I kinda don't like the lightsources either. Firebeetle eye is chill, but everything else seems to be like 500-foot radius blinding blue light that makes everyone else's armor look weird. Still though, I think having classic darkness and the light sources are intimately related, and I really dig classic darkness. If p99 could somehow be rebuilt on the trilogy client for the next server that would be perfect.

I did this once and was so tired, and looked at somethign on the floor, and I couldnt tell if it was a mouse, or a spider, or no.. it was a wad of paper.

It looked exactly like google dream trying to identify an image. My brain was like, so tired it was operating so slowly and it was just dark enough, that I could see it calculating the images it was receiving with its cameras exactly like a computer would.

Was awesome. We're little machines!

Man remember those magic eye things that were hot back in the day? Sometimes when im pooping at work, the tile floor can do some strange shit if you let your eyes do that magic eye cross thing... I'm too damn good at these things dude. This one seems relevant :)

If p99 could somehow be rebuilt on the trilogy client for the next server that would be perfect.

That project exists (http://www.eqclassic.org/index.php) but it's been in beta for like 15 years.

Also I'm not sure if you remember just how clunky those older clients are. Playing Shards of Dalaya was like stepping back into the stone ages and that was the relatively modern Gates of Discord client.

Thanks for sending me down that rabbit hole, seems pretty cool that they can directly translate it from EQ zones to textures / meshes that pretty quickly snap to an approximate updated zone. At least that was how it worked in the one video I watched by the guy that posted about Unity on the eqemu forums.
