I bought an FBSS for my rogue and also paid for J-Boots MQ and for someone to farm me a Pegasus cloak and I don't even play that twink. Got bored at level 20 whatever. I wouldn't be so filthy rich if I spent all my time on low-chance high-reward camps, that's for sure.

its pretty obvious they changed the drop rates on the FBSS maybe after they found out how shit the haste belts were in sky so now they are artificially making them "better" by virtue of access.

there is approximately a .003% chance for a sample size of 21 fenzies.


I'd like to hear why the rates were change. there also used to be a waiting list of 5-6 people to camp frenz 5 months ago when I took a long break from EQ, now there is almost never even a list going and sometimes frenz is completely open. Not by coincidence, surely.

RNG is crazy, aint it? My buddy spent about 20 hours farming a corrupted shaman for his druid epic. I got 2 corrupted shamans within 2 hours. The reason I had to go for 2 is bc some Castle druid ninja looted the lake water as i was swapping toons.

This project has never had the 25% rare/ 75% common if that's what you are referring to. Its always been way lower for rares.

I mean. It happened to me on Fippy server. My wife and I and a friend camped frenzy as a paladin enchanted shaman trio for four days in napping shifts just to do it we got two belts. Total. Over four days. It sucked.

I just spent eleven hours on Lord today to get one SSB and one Ykesha I almost didn’t get. Rng sucks man.

It’s not a coincidence. The server has been out for almost a year and Kunark is about to drop. Many people who wanted an FBSS (or multiple of them for alts) have already gotten them. Others have just said why deal with it so close to Kunark. And then you add in the fact that some people who might otherwise try to farm it more are simply not playing right now and haven’t been for a bit since they’re just waiting for Kunark (check out how low the pop has been at prime time compared to what it was months ago). That’s why the camp is open

Yeah it depends on the item. I've farmed a bunch of paw of opollas on green, and and gynok feels classically rare, but the fungus mutant in guk drops gukweed seemingly just as frequently as the spores and bracket mildew. On live, the gukweed was a second bottleneck in addition to gynok. It took my scrawny teenage ass 16 hours camping it during the summer of 2000 to get it. On green I've gotten three in a row, and two in a row.

I've seen Myconid Spore King not pop once over an entire weekend. It was 100% camped, without break, from friday night to sunday night, and there wasn't a single king spawn.

I've also seen 3 tunics on 3 spawns in a row.

Ya, if I knew they fucking changed the drop rate I would have. All the evidence is piled up. massive loss in interest in the camp, impossibly low drop rates, the coincidentally recent introduction of plane of sky and their shit haste belts.

And you must be new to how to thhings work in P99's EC. Selling shit takes forever and selling garbage tier shit like moonstone rings takes forever + a day. It's a good way to lose money by wasting more time, though.

doesnt actually work with physics and math, and that if there are a string of drops or no drops or spawns or no spawns or whatever, for like 20 spawns, it has no effect on the next 20, it doesnt average out over time.

My stupid iksar brain thinks that if I log like 10hrs at a camp, and I get no drops, that my ass better stay there for the next 5 hours, because then Ill get 15 hours worth of drops, in 5 hours and I am petty and dont want to give someone all my hard work, so I stay logged in for another 5 hours, and then I continue this process until eventually im going to die here at this camp.

What they said, is if you got no drops for 10hrs, dont think that the next 5 hours is going to even out, its always random, there is no 0000000000000000101010111111111 effect.

up to 33 rings with no sash.

I played green/farmed a guk a ton 4-5 months back before i took a long break. back then there about 6 people who very often farmed the frenzy daily.

We pooled data for quite awhile and among us the longest anyone ever went without a sash was 8 frenzies, adnd the average was around 4 frenzies per sash., with frenzies appear approximately 1 time very hours.

Frenzy spawn rate seems the same, but everyone from the old school has said the rates are down not just at sash but all across lguk. I dont have good evidence for any other camp but I believe in a court of law I could clearly convince a jury by calling a mathematician or two that threre is no way I just happened to be the guy winning/losing the RNg lottery and that have originality lower the drop rate.

Its tough because you're going to get bias in your typical wiki report rate.

Specifically, the people most likely to update something are the people who are experiencing a run of luck in one direction or another. If you have a 10% drop chance, and 500 people camp an item, having someone in that group go 60 kills without a drop is normal. That person is likely to be very cranky and much more likely to complain somewhere than all the people that took a normal amount of time.

In the other direction, I reported the the drops from my first 20 Harla Dar kills on her wiki page. We got two Torpors in that block. Is the Torpor drop rate 10%? 3%? Who knows? But more importantly, would I have reported anything at all if she never dropped a Torp?

you know like for every e.g. -3σ event there's a +3σ event, roughly speaking, and given long enough since it's all approximately normally distributed anyway, the mean should eventually come out even if i'm getting nothing but outliers, it just might take a little longer
