My First Alt

Previously I had posted about creating the Affordable Twink character as a Rogue and that will still occur. I have taken a 90 or so degree turn and plan on leveling a Shaman as the first alternate character now. I want a character that I will group with but fear spending hours LFG and not able to be productive and thus get discouraged. I gave it long thought and decided that the Shaman class is a good alternate option. I think it will be better to group with them but if needed they can also solo. Another factor that came into play is I want to be an evil race so I can kill different things than I can as a good race without too many repercussions. Can anyone think of a better option that might allow for easy grouping, be evil and not be a true pet class or caster? Thanks in advance for any and all feedback and comments.

Erudite SK? Ah fuck it, wrong day to pick that battle..... Blah blah blah choose Ogre Shaman..

But seriously. Consider it... They aren't the most Evil.. You'll be able to tank in groups, or solo if needed/wanted.. There is some really cheap and cool SK only gear. And they have a lot of cool quality of life stuff spells...

Additional props- Erudites have the best Cultural Armor haaaaands down.

My current is an Erudite Enchanter otherwise that would be a great option. I am looking for something as different as I can get and still not paint myself into a sit and wait corner too much. Also I might go that route once Paineel is live but not sure when that happens.

I was bouncing back and forth between Troll and Ogre. I had settled on Troll change my mind real fast.

What do you mean by caster? Even with the most restrictive definition of it, all the "true pet classes" would also fall under that category...

You can do this as any race. Kill whatever you want, leave at least one city you can train and bank in, now you have the same play experience as an "evil" race.

You could be an evil cleric. Dark Elf/Inno, or a Human Inno, or a hum/gnome bertoxx. Go gnome bertoxx for a seriously hardcore experience. Clerics can in fact solo some stuff, especially if they have some gear to work with.

I guess pet class and caster have a pretty wide overlap. I mean other than magician, necromancer, enchanter or wizard. I am also excluding druids as i played one in retail back in the day. I thought about clerics but I have heard mixed stories about their ability to find groups and then soloing they are sort of restricted to undead as I have been told.

Wizards don't have a pet. But you don't need gear to play a wizard until around lvl 30 for quadding.

I'd probably do a melee still. Aside from Rogue, they can all kinda sort solo—Rogue is just the absolute worst soloer in the game. If you wanna be evil, that limits you to SK, which is one of the better melee soloers.

The class you're looking for is Necromancer, but I'd wait for Kunark to be Iksar.
