What is the server agreed upon common courtesy of the list.

Seems people are getting drop, immediately adding themselves to the list again and not holding any camp presence and often not even an online presence and expecting to be able to check in and return when they are top 5 again in 24+ hours

What should the agreed upon list courtesy be? Camp is in much more demand than Blue currently, how did Blue's work well back in the day?

I understand if you are 10+ and want to play on an alt or log for a nap but should list be purged every x hours?

If someone at number 3 goes to bed and doesn't get back on for 8 hours should they keep their then #1 slot?

GM guidance is only for the next person up (can't renege), so its up to the server to decide how it should go.

Here is my play nice policy:

I arrive at the camp and ask who is next. If the next person doesn't arrive when the current one leaves then the camp is FTE. If a different character shows other than the one named it's FTE. If the current camper is not in the zone when I do a /who then it's immediately FTE even if the PH's are cleared.

If the current camper wants to camp the pixel repeatedly by handing off the lore item to another party I have zero problem with that. If they're not actually at the exact pixel but they're in the zone and they're keeping the PH clear I have no problem with that. If they want to hand off to a friend who then hands it back to them I have no problem with that.

If the handoff is made I ask the new person who is next. And so on...

Any violations of my play nice policy will be dealt with in a manner which will assure a lose-lose for everyone involved.

Just get on the list and try to remain online, even AFK. A lot of people list and log and are nowhere to be found when it's their turn, so they get skipped, and you luck out. I've gone from 3rd on a list to killing the placeholder several times (not at AC, but other camps). Don't let the number of people on a list discourage you.

You can bind there and leave and gate back when it's your turn, or park a character there and log to an alt.

Depends... we've seen claims/cases where the staff has said you need to stay logged in with the listed character and even that you can't leave the zone in question.

Should someone who logs for 12+ hours at a time, is bound at camp, is always riding list not helping hold down camp either playing on other toons or offline expect they can show up when they are #1 and get their ring?

List was up to near 30 people at one point. May as well just put everyone on server on a list.

I agree with @Videri it would be nice if that worked but demand is too high for it.

Its impossible to manage a list for the 10 people at camp actually wanting the item with the other 10+ freeloaders not logged in or out of zone who just want to permanently ride the list and rage when they get removed for not even bothering to check in with camp.

When I'm camping a mob and there's a list, when I get the item or leave, I send a tell to the person first on the list. If they're not online, I send a tell to the next person, and so on. Whoever's foremost in the list out of the people online gets it and everyone else goes to the end of the line. I tell the next person the list and I repress the memory of the whole 8-hour camp so I can plunge into another one. This is just cool and normal behavior, folks.

Sitting at a camp for 30+ hours waiting your turn does not make you a better gamer, hardcore or even more deserving. It’s stupid. Depending on your spot on the list. You take advantage and log off or play an alt and then log in at 2 AM and “purge” the list. I have gotten 2 rings so far and I love the chill atmosphere and being able to do other things besides sit there.

AC never summoned, I was able to solo him in SRO on a monk in my 40s Veeshan server, even outdpsed a shaman that came along and tried to KS the kill. How classic actually worked fellas, no carebear lists and 40 year old semi-autists sitting together in a circle, half afk for 24+ hours hoping to not to DC/LD

Spawn was up, whoever got to it and did most damage got the loot. Amazingly players never monopolized these type of systems, you were basically incentivsed to never do the camp/try to farm the item for PP again in these scenarios.

SRO AC isn't a list here either its FFA FTE you miserable troglodytes. It even says OOT in the thread title. OOT AC on my server during Kunark/Luclin was definitely a camp people waited their turn for.

Because people want the item very badly, don't feel like waiting for the camp and get super mad when they don't have what they want.

SRO Ancient cyclops was a pushover at 50 or even 39. OOT one was way harder. Don't remember it summoning. It wasn't over lvl 50.

They need to remove MQing. It is a feature of old school EQ that should have never existed. Even going for your epic, you should only get your class epic if you put in all the effort.

The fact that I have seen people in Sro get 2+ rings is irritating as shit, when I am still after my only one and couldn't get jboots because I do not have 4+ hours to concurrently play this game.

The list moves organically
When your #2 the #1 person says /tell mrtickles its your turn.

When your its your turn you have less than 6 minutes to get to AC and kill the AC or PH. If you miss one place holder (I'll give you 2) then you lose the camp and next on list gets called.


You can add your alts named and leave your main camped at AC.
You can bind at AC and go enjoy the freaking game, while still waiting in line. (Ill port you if I am on).

You can loot the corpse on an alt (I'll lock the corpse for you if I am on)

Thats never gonna happen. They dont actually care about the individual players struggle in game. That struggle is part of the essence of the game.

This is not a game for your 2020 mentality of instant gratification.

/lists were made to drastically reduce the amount of petitions and drama that inevitably would have inundated the jboot, guise and rubi bp camp. It would have been a clusterfuck on an epic scale. 100+ people in each zone all bitching to each other about the same shit.

So RogBog makes the /list system to reduce their CSR workload.

The AC OOT fervor will wane, but never go away entirely. They are used to dealing with that type of thing from blue. They know how to handle it.

So what I was told is that everyone who was online was AFK except one person who could not kill the PHer. A bard in zone noticed the he PH up for like 20 minutes. He asked questions to camp holder and the took the AC camp. GM was pulled into it because people petitioned. GM rules i. Favor of the bard.

So sorry about my earlier post if it was flamish! I was feeling passionate because I like this system. I don’t see why more people don’t join the list. Like in the example above. I went to bed, lost my spot because I relied on someone being on the list holding it. You could argue that I gained ground because it started over? One time I went to bed at 14 and was passed over because most people were not online when their spawn came up at number 1. I think the fact that the majority of players have created this system is fascinating! Even if you are used to the 40 hour sock, I encourage you to try this out. Just /who all oot and send a tell to a level 50 or two and ask who has the list. Ask that person to be put on. Then go about you EQ day and have actual fun. Before you say they should change the rule, try the green eggs and ham for yourself.

For you, who can't do four hour play sessions, MQ sellers are a great boon. You can camp your plat to buy the damn thing in fits and spurts so you don't have to compete with the sockers.

@Beemo. Dude I like yoour post +1000x rep for me. People crying about oot list rules is silly.. Its a high risk thing to log off when ur 20+. You never know when it will spawn. So spot 2-30 might all be offline. Its your own risk. But at same time holy crap i can go farm and lvl. Why not.. Enjoy the game.
