Just started on the green server- lvl 4 Monk. When Mend is activated and I click it, I see no failure or success message. I'm not expecting much success this early on obviously, but nothing happens.
Is that by design in P99 classic EQ? I honestly can't remember.

never mind, I finally trained Mend up a few levels and now it tells me whether it fails or heals.

There is a message. Something like: your attempt mend failed OR you worsened you wounds OR you mended some of your wounds
It appears in dark blue. Check your filters, you might have it turned off

Try to put a point into it at the trainer

You can worsen your wounds ? Damn

Sadly, once Mend skill hits 100 monks go full-on easy mode. ;)

Mend neither fails nor worsens your wounds once you get 100+ skill. Personally, the best advice I can give any new monk is dump every single spare training point into mend (obviously using 1 pt to train other needed skills). Almost all skills you can easily spam skill them up, mend is on a 6 minute timer for a chance at a skill up.

What i did was use mend out of combat alot while in groups. Like when I was full health until i got to 100 skill. Bc failing say when around 50% in combat when solo or even group if your tanking can mean death. I would agree with kalamurv dump a lot of ur Skll points into mend. At least like 30.

I finally tried that after I first posted this thread and it worked. :)
Once you put a point to the ability, the success/fail dialogue begins showing up.

mend/FD/AC bonus is mostly why monk get the 20% exp penalty even tho they are not a hybrid, they mine aswell be a hybrid with none of the downsides
