View Full Version : Anyone remember how root nets held value into Kunark on Blue?

It was so long ago I’ve forgotten, and I can’t remember if Kunark brings alternate sources of clicky root, how the nets affect higher level mobs, etc.

Hey there! I at least know of this *Velious*-era (so not Kunark) that is forthcoming, drops in Crystal Caverns: https://wiki.project1999.com/Crystalline_Silk_Net
Good luck!

I don't think there are ever good replacements. Other root clicks pop up here or there, but with cast times and taking up more inventory space, etc.
Nets will lose value though because most people will never pursue them, and those who do only will want/need so many (probably between 3-8 for basically everyone) tops. Eventually there will be more supply than demand and prices will drop probably to 500ish, maybe even BY Kunark.

I used to buy them for 300-400 in 2015. Neckbeards are the reason the price is so high imo.

I started on blue in 2010.... The shit that goes on with 1k pop is nothing that compares to the days of 200 player peaks.

It's a trivially easy, essentially risk-free camp that can be soloed by any class, the item itself has no real replacement for the life of the server (the Velious net from CC is far inferior), it is useful for numerous classes, and most people who use them would want to carry around at least 3-4. For these reasons spider nets will always hold decent value. I expect it will be perma-camped for the duration of the classic timeline, as it's one of the few easily-acquired classic items that remains relevant and highly liquid into the expansions.

Root nets are easily the most broken thing on p99 but I LOVE EM!
But they are easy to obtain especially when there are more things to farm. So they drop to a reasonable price but its good money still for a fat ass ogre warrior.
