Bonethunder Staff Quest working on teal/blue?

I have all the pieces for the turn in for the Bonethunder staff quest.

Both the Thunder staff and the Bayle list 2 from Mammoth in surefall.

I have warmly faction with the knights of thunder but Runethar Hamest isn't giving me and dialogs and I am afraid he will swallow my items.

I was wondering if anyone has done this quest on teal/green?

I checked the wiki and some other sources but they say I may need ally faction but to my understanding ally faction isn't in the game yet.

I am a an Erudite Cleric worshiping Prexus.

Since the wiki says it requires ally faction you may have to be maxed out even though he already cons warmly to you. Seems odd a "classic" quest would require ally - may be worth a bug report if you can't raise the faction any higher.

I'm working on this as well, I don't think I quite have the faction for it yet, or at least I can't get the dialog. I'm a Rodcet Nife worshiping Cleric, but he's on the Karana faction so I think I still need some more faction.

I am a very loyal Knight of Thunder and seek this staff merely as a trophy of achievement and for a little RP. I have warmly faction at 12 and have turned in about 50 sashes and still Runethar claims that I haven't proven myself worthy of returning the list yet.

I have heard that faction must be high warmly. I was warmly, but the honorable Runthar was kind enough to give me the entire quest.

I am a 26th lvl HE Palidan. I am warmly faction to Knights of Thunder and I still can not get Runethar Hamefist to provide me with the Bayle List. Everytime I state that I will retrieve the Bayle list, I receive a message that I have not proven myself worthy. I have spent 4 days getting my faction up this high with them and still no go. I have completed the Thunder Staff quest, yet I can not get the rest of the quest from Runethar. I will go kill more bandits this weekend and see if I can get High Warmly with the KoT.

The Bonethunder staff is 9d 2hbash 3wis, if i remember right. Pal, Clr only. Comes with *1* charge of ward undead... and to recharge it, you have to pay 500 gold. that's 50 plat, for a spell that the only classes that can use it get as part of their first set.
Do this quest if you need the faction... otherwise pass it up.

Bonethunder Staff has since been changed:) 3 patches ago (mid september) it was fixed thanks to all the support behind the woodwork petition!:D

The BTS now PROCS Ward Undead!:D

Just goes to prove that verant will listen to it's customers if they complain enough!;D

Anyone able to confirm if this quest is in the game? I'm Kindly faction and I don't have any kind of quest prompt when I hail him. I'm not brave enough to hand in my items without some kind of confirmation that this quest is in the game.

I'm sure it is. I helped two different clerics with Mammoth during my time in Surefall camping the druid/ranger, and one of them linked the staff to me after they were done.

He still won't give the quest. I have the Thunderstaff and Regurgitonic. I was waiting to see him offer the quest before visiting Mammoth.

Is the quest diety specific? There is no mention that it is only for Karana worshippers only. I'm a Human Inny Cleric. Am I SoL? :confused:

So, I've done the following 3 times:

Got Regurgitonic
Had Identify cast on me to validate that it was: "Item Lore: Regurgitonic" and not the "Item Lore: Bad Regurgitonic"
Returned to Surefall Glade, waited until 3AM when Mammoth spawns.
Cast Calm on Mammoth, swim over, trade him Regurgitonic.
Receive nothing.

What am I missing? Is the Bayle List a quest item that's guaranteed 100%? Does it only work a smaller percentage of the time?

I've got the bonethunder staff on my level 10 cleric. it works. he did the turn ins. I had to kill mammoth with my necro and log in my cleric to loot.

The staff is proc'ing for him at level 10 doing the same damage the undead DD spell does.

It's worth the effort, though I have to give Drosco a big F-U as that dude was the hardest part of the camp.

I didn't get any of the dialogue...i leap of faithed it with the thunderstaff and bayle list turn in and i got the cool music, the little bit of exp and the bonethunder staff in return.

If i rememeber correctly, i oculdn't get the dude to respond to me either so I tried it....and it worked.

Yeah, Drosco took me a couple days - a few hours each day. It sucked to even get him to spawn, let alone drop that friggen Order of Thunder.

All worth it in the end.

Just to be safe, max faction with Knights of Thunder. :D

- Lots of Putrid Rib turn ins
- Lots of Pouch of evidence turn ins
- Then ~10 bone chip turn ins to push it to max

I ended up paying a n00b 25 plat to keep Niclaus in a hail lock so I could do 15 putrid / 15 pouch turn ins in a row. :eek:

Takes time, but wasn't sure how low faction could be.

I think the best test is to check with Chesgard to see if he gives you the Temple Blankets quest. There is a line of dialogue where he asks if your a Knight of Thunder. If your faction isn't high enough he won't give the quest.

As others have said I can confirm that there is no quest dialogue for Bonethunder, and yes Warmly is as high as you can get right now. I handed in the letter (by killing Mammoth; which when you do you can turn in his hide to an NPC in the druid area to get faction back) and the Thunder staff. I received Bonethunder in return.

I ended up using bandit sashes to what i calculated to be ally rep (1051). I did the turn ins and now have my own bonethunder!

Special thanks to Shub, who helped me kill Mammoth when I realized he would not take regurgitonic without an additional rep grind. Really helped me out.

Not impossible but you're going to start at dubious or apprehensive. Be prepared to kill a lot of Karana Bandits.

Fastest way I found was hanging in hills, killing putrid skeletons for the rib bone turn in, that's an easy 30 (or more?) per bone, as well as Gnoll fangs which eventually give you moonstones, you turn those in for more faction points, and giving a *lot* of gold to Lashun (2 gold at a time).

Bandit sashes are probably faster if you are the level for it, though. I ended up doing it as a level 11 dwarf cleric.

Done it. Lots of putrid rib bone turn-ins, and pouch of evidence turn-ins, lots of gnoll teeth and moonstones. I balanced these with some +Bloodsabre faction quests to not destroy my ability to walk around the aqueducts.

Specifically, doing the Tacklebox and both parts of the Tunic quests will raise Bloodsabers and only cost a minimal amount of Priests of Life.
