not sitting near the walls in some SolB camps to avoid agro trains back in 2000. The game is fucky and if you remove it suddenly some of the challenge is gone. Part of EQ is the shit like this, needing to know where to stand or sit. It's not straight forward.
Shame boomers 20 damn years ago could figure this out while communicating with two cans and some string.

Part of the boredom of modern games are their refinements, same is true with modern muscle cars and racing. You are not supposed to just waltz away from a car crash doing a buck 20.

It's kinda strange cause in some instances they seem to. I was in a room the other day with two mobs and there were three in the one next door. So I kill the two and then head into the next room to clear the 3. I clear the 3 and med and wait for them to respawn (in the meantime, the two mobs in the original room respawned).
When the 3 in the room I'm in now start to respawn, I go to kill them and the two from the original room aggro through the closed door. Yet when I was killing those two mobs in the original room, the 3 from the second room didn't aggro through the door. It was really weird.

Monsters LoS is smaller when you are behind them it’s possible in one case mobs were not facing you.

Yeah that's possible. Although the two in the original room weren't facing me either, they were facing down the hall away from the door.

I definitely remember specifically avoiding leveling in Unrest in classic because of stuff coming through the walls. The best was dying to random arms punching through walls.
However, I don't remember upper guk having the live zone line mobs run through the walls once someone zones, fall through the world and then port out at the summoner area and path all the way back.

That moment when you see your mob fall through a wall when you are deep in a dungeon is so intoxicating though, separates the maggots from the worms when you see who is smart enough to camp w/o being told

Unrest is one where I haven't had issues on P99. I've killed the Ghoul in the hallway right next to multiple doors before and none of the mobs have come through it. I have had issues in Guk and Befallen like this though, and sometimes in Highkeep.

Some of the guys playing original EQ would've been at the tail end of the boomer era. Hence, 20 damn years ago. They would have been in their mid-late 30's when EQ released which is the same age I am now on P99.

Lol. I guess I wouldn't mind the aggroing through doors and walls if it was consistent. Seems like some walls and doors mobs won't aggro through, but in other areas they will.
