What the hell is adult swim doing these days? Growing up I remember watching great anime like trigun and cowboy bebop Big o etc etc etc

Nowadays all I see are commercials for superjail, eaglehheart, and childrens hospital. why did they give up on the great classics for these HORRIBLE HORRIBLE reality tv shows.

Adult swim is good from 11pm-12am, family guy, and maybe some nights robot chicken if im real high.

Modern television is depressing.

the only show i really really enjoy is Venture Bros and aqua teen. supposed to be new seasons of those coming tho! im actually starting to get interested in cowboy bebop that show used to put me to sleep but now that im older it's interested me.

i miss Trigun. want to watch it again but all the DVDs are bloody expensive. also they only played the first season of witchhunter robin wich was a great dissapointment. i got so into that show then they just cut it short. was there only so many episodes dubbed for english?

Bottom line is that it is really dissapointing that adult swim stopped being the one 'station' that went out on a limb and tried new shows that was really different or played good anime to the station that sucks seth mcfarlin's dick and started making their OWN shows that suck and use the type of humor that only a bunch of comedians in a large group thing are funny but really dont wash well once they are taped.

Could never stand the anime on adult swim. I did watch it more often years ago though. Today its not really as good as it used to be. Then again you can say that shit about anything.

90% of the programming comes from the paid staff of Seth MacFarlane, and Seth Green... Both of which are terribly shitty writers and comedians that rely too much on pop-culture parody.

If Adult Swim was more like MTV Animation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTV_Animation the quality would exponentially go up seeing as it wouldn't just be 4 hours of back-to-back family guy/american dad and robot chicken bloc's to which we've seen the same episodes over a thousand times over the course of 7 years...

Adult Swim just does poorly in what they do, they fail to live up to the great animated comedy that exuded from the 90's, they failed to be as good as Anime Unleashed! from the TechTV/G4 bloc's which were completely unedited and more fresh, obscure and interesting. They simply exist just to make money off syndication, nothing more, nothing less.

Spot on sir! Adult swim has turned into a 2 hour block of king of the hill/family guy and then hours of pure garbage.

Though I do like moral Orel from time to time =p

Adult Swim really have some great programs lost in a sea of straight up garbage. Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2021, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Home Movies, The Boondocks, Venture Brothers, as well as shows they picked up like Mission Hill, King of the Hill and Futurama. Even the anime was great, it introduced me to FLCL and Wolf's Rain, as well as being able to watch (if I was up late enough) Cowboy Bebop and Big O.

Then of course you have Childrens Hospital, Delocated, Eagleheart, Mongo Wrestling Alliance, Squidbillies, Assy McGee, Fat Guy Stuck In The Internet, Saul of the Mole Men, Xavier, anything Seth MacFarlane, Mighty Boosh, etc. I could go on and on about how many bad shows have been on Adult Swim.

Instead of throwing millions of dollars to bring in Cleveland Show of all things, they should just invest in bringing quality shows back to their network.

I wasn't talking about AS productions specifically just the shows that are aired. AS has had some amazing programs over the years, there's no argument there, my problem is the current lineup in comparison to the glory days. They've replaced all of the good shows with this live action (not reality lol) garbage, I don't think there has ever been a single decent live action show on adult swim.

AS just ordered a pilot for a new show by Bob Odenkirk called regal productions. If you have good taste in comedy, then you already know who Bob is and have the Mr. Show box dvd set.

Space Ghost, Brak, Home Movies, Sealab, and the random anime they played. (I can't remember them all, but FLCL, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Big O, Full Metal Alchemist.)

The original shows they put out are terrible, and i am so glad most of them are only showed on sunday. If that ever changed, i think AS would just disappear faster than it appeared. (Did anyone else just randomly come across if because they were watching cartoons for some reason like 8 years ago?)

Side note, i like Metalocalypse, ATHF, Robot Chicken, King of the Hill, Family Man, American Boy. They can keep those on, just get rid of the crap that only 10 people are watching, and the rest of us fell a sleep on the channel before we could change it.

Archer Rocks!! Love most of H. Jon Benjamin's work. As for AS I love most of the classics ... Venture Brothers, ATHF, Morel Orel, Home Movies (which started out as Jonathon Katz's (I think) project for ABC TV), Robot Chicken. I was never much of an Anime fan.

The first season of Sealab was comedy gold, but it definitely went downhill after Harry Goz (captain murphy) passed away. Same for ATHF even though no one died.

Maybe it's because I'm a current resident of north Georgia but Squidbillies is one of my favorite shows. Everything else on that channel kinda sucks now.
