You have made comments regarding how Mage and
Necromancer pets make them unique. Mages can summon four different
elementals that have the ability to cast spells. Necromancers have the
ability to equip their pets and heal them. Well as for the healing that has
now been taken away with the addition of mage pet healing spells added in a
recent patch. So what are Necromancers left with? Equipping their pets? OK
this is a great unique characteristic to have. Well now that is being taken
away from us as well grr..

Level 49 mage pet = 200 mana
level 49 necro pet = 500 mana

That necromancer back then really seemed to grasp the difference between a necromancer and a mage :)

dont really need a heal on mage , you can, but most when the pet starts getting low hp, start casting a new pet, and right before the spell finishes, you kill your old pet,

whatever you were fighting pauses for a split second, then you attack with the new pet.

If you look at it like this, it's like Mages get CHeal but for only 200 mana! :)

Can you kill your pet while casting on Green? The macro button I made doesn’t work while casting.

Can’t use a macro but if you make a hotkey on your social tab it should work, really you could make a page on your social tab just like a pet menu, you’ll have to click though...

If you need to heal your pet as a necro you're doing something wrong

This isn't really a viable strategy until your pet gets innate dual wield at level 44. Before that, you need to give your pet 2 summoned swords to get it to dual wield. You also need to rebuff haste. All of this adds to the setup time and mana cost of each new pet. It might be more mana efficient than healing your pet past a certain point, but it feels really gross with an untwinked Vanilla EQ mana pool. Necro leveling feels much better.

chain pets have weird agro on green compared to blue/live. indoors its not viable at all. outdoors it requires progressively more kiting to regain agro as you go through additional pets (on allizewsaur for instance). This happens whether you're buffing the new pets or not.

Also at lower levels, fire pet with pet heal was the OP method of grinding xp on relatively easy blue mobs. at low level pets cost too much, and the value of a max level pet is too high for chaining them to be viable, as well as the need for new weapons as the previous post said

Mage get's to damage shield it's pet, necro doesn't so OP, does that mean necro should get DS for it's pet? No, they're different classes and have different spells which makes them different and play different. Very simple.

Chaining is boring, make friends and share the wealth it’s more fun :)
