I'm sorry, who shit in your cheerios this morning? Don't dump on people who are filing bugs trying to get this server The Most Classic It Has Ever Been.

1/5 stars. Go back to your bridge and think about what you've done.

Who said I'm going #2 on anyone?

I find it comical. Who pissed in your cheerios?

I'm sure the devs are working feverishly on getting these game breaking bugs fixed in between family and RL work obligations where they actually get paid for their time

This freeshard isn't some sweatshop in China. LOL at people talking about the "work" being put in when they aren't the ones doing the actual fixing

Better get that F1 pet target fixed by the next patch. CHOP CHOP

One thing I've noticed and it might be the reason why a lot of these "bugs" remained unfixed during Green Launch is that maybe they were originally "bugs" that were fixed? Why would someone report a Bug Fix as being a Bug that needs to be fixed into it's original state of being of bug? Why bother with that?

How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

The staff will not necessarily correct every issue reported. They will fix game-breaking bugs and major era differences; but they will skip fixing trivial things, things that don’t add much classicness to the game, and certain things that are super hard to fix but not a big priority. Dolalin is giving them a carefully edited menu of what to choose from. He’s doing a lot of homework for them, saving them a lot of research time.

Plus, after they fix all the big issues/bugs/omissions/unclassicness, they can go back and tweak these little things in 4 years for the next iterations of Green. It’s all good.

Praise Dolalin.

You would have a point if there haven't been several changes implemented that are irrefutably not Classic

90% of all the "work" being listed will never be fixed

Some are already past the classic timeline

Maybe with the next iteration of The Matrix ERRRR Classic Server the Devs will get around to making the fixes bugs again when the reason why they were patched/fixed is because they were broken

Chanters gotta have different spell gems though or someone's OCD is triggered. I get it

Are you employed Sir?

You don't go around posting like that on a weekday do you?

You're the guy solely responsible for mages being stuck with 34 max lvl pets for the first 2 months of Green/Teal. You even admitted that it had bad and unexpected consequences. Even Nilbog had to address it before a scheduled patch to let people know there was hope because trying to play a mage during that time was hopeless. It also totally FUCKED the spell research/component economy which still hasn't fully recovered. I would even make the case it's a large contributing factor to the current inflated prices we're seeing across both servers because it created an anomaly within the normal flow of supply and demand that affected prices for all items across the board

So everyone complaining about insane prices right now in the tunnels can blame Dolalin and his Human Centipede within this thread

Great job guys

"Coming off like some kind of idiot" really works for this thread.

All I did was take a screenshot of the first page of The Green Bug section and you got triggered. Imagine trying to actually play the game and mobs are warping through ceilings and walls and you check the bug section and this is what you see:

12197

12198

12199

So not only am I dealing with warping mobs, now I need 50 bags in my limited inventory space to haul around words that don't stack when the prices on many of these words are already through the roof

I can only imagine what the costs of level 24+ pet components would have been before the fix if they didn't stack - Hahahaha .... real intelligent people pushing for and defending that nonsense - NOT

GEE, you seem really smart. Tell everyone how that would affect the current market price for words shit for brains. You're white knighting for a guy who is already on record admitting his quest to get shit broke that wasn't broken wasn't fully thought through and had an extremely negative impact on everyone's gameplay. If he were to jump off the grand canyon would you follow? Serious question.

It's no secret there has been a loss of a lot of players since launch day. There was an expected dip, but it's nearly 1k now. The numbers don't lie. How many of those people rolled a pet class and said "Fuck This" and gave up? You're a casual player and at lvl 24 you're trying to scrounge up 100-200 plat for one combine in an attempt to make a pet? "You're combined failed - SO SORRY" Who's fault is that? Hint: Dolalin - Can that player send him the bill? He's making big bucks "working" on fucking up the casual player's gaming experience. I'm sure he's good for it.

The most ironic thing about that is once you actually blew your wad even getting the researched pet (That was actually in the game at that time) you still have to babysit it in dungeons or it will path and warp throughout the entire zone bringing a shitton of mobs down on your ass to curb stomp you

We're currently within the June timeline. Does any of this shit really matter? Need to work it out in your brain a second? Let me help you. FUCK NO

I can't attack a mob under the world beating on me because it warped and I have to zone in order to reset it and I'm supposed to care about any of that? Some of it is literally weeks away in the timeline or has already passed it's expiration date. Tell me why I should care DOCTOR. Can you prescribe me some pills to ease the headache of trying to filter through this useless clutter to see if the real issues affecting gameplay are being worked on. Thanks!

You really want the devs to drop everything so we can change pet colors for a few weeks? Yea, real prudent use of their limited time smart guy. Half of them are obviously unintended bugs that were hotfixed. It even says so in the links provided calling them bugs. How stupid is that?

What would you rather have fixed

Mob pathing issues, missing quest NPCs, Soulfire and maybe even a second look at Charm reliability thrown in

Or Spell Gems and Pet Colors

THIS SHARD IS NOBODY'S JOB (Including Dolalin's) you fucking idiots. Stop white knighting for this guy when he wouldn't give you the common courtesy of a reach around

Devs have very limited actual development time. This is a hobby. Not a fucking job. You people have been out of work for so long you've forgotten what it's like to actually have a real fucking job. You can't even see the difference between the two. I couldn't write that joke any better if I was a comedian

When Dolalin gets PAID for cluttering up the Bug Section with pointless garbage lemme know. I want to see pics of the pay stubs signed by Lord Rogean himself. Then you can call it "work". Until then GTFO with that idiotic attempt to explain what he is doing

Any of you roll a pet class at launch? What did Dolalin roll? How do any of you morons with your heads up his ass really know what his true motivations really are? You don't

Anyways, just for laughs I hope these dumb issues get prioritized over shit that's actually broken in the game at the moment that matter

Then everyone can say "Thanks Dolalin" when their group gets wiped out by a mob under the world pulling the entire zone as they admire their perfect spell gems and pet colors for that era

Original poster

1) just wow man if the bug section BUGS you this much just done ready it.

2) Why are you so afraid of changes / potential changes which the developers have stated they want us to find.

3) Maybe take a deep breath and realize the goal of the server has always been to recreate classic everquest with the caveat some unclassic changes made for the health of the server.

4) Does not matter if YOU / ME or anyone does not like the changes players find and developers implement. THIS IS NOT YOUR SERVER its the developers project that they love to work on. WE just have privilege to play on it.

Fammaden
01-07-2020, 01:41 PM
He makes some points among the ranting, which is appropriate in RnF anyway. If some of the stuff being suggested were originally literal BUGS which were then fixed in later patches, is it really necessary to a classic experience or recreation to make deliberate bugs on schedule? Stuff that was intended, yet is terrible like hybrid penatlies, is one thing, making the game emulate buggy mechanics on purpose for a mere one to three months doesn't seem to accomplish anything of value.

If you think we should in fact have classic bugs included as part of the timeline then where does that end? Should classic plat dupes exist up until the original devs found and ended them?

PabloEdvardo

OP clearly has no concept whatsoever of how software development works and how issues are logged and prioritized.

The game literally was built on the backs of people spending time logging issues.

Triggered! I read the rest of your post like you were mad, it was great.

People play on this server because of its timeline, so I think the timeline matters...

Obviously you're not a golfer

Back on topic

This is not a Live Server. This is not a server that generates money that can hire people to fix a clusterfuck of pointless "bugs" that in the larger scheme of things don't matter

Stop comparing it to a professional software environment/server. This is a hobby box. I think it's the best box on the internet, but it's not a pro box ok? It is impossible to recreate Classic as it was 20 years ago and who are we kidding?

One of you want to create a bug report about hoops? Think that will ever get reverted back to Classic Era? Yea ok good luck

Does the timeline matter so much to you that having the exact spell gems and pet colors really matter that much (to you or to) the average player for a couple of weeks? The answer is No

Secondly, I'll say it again. The economy on both servers right now are suffering from hyper inflation that can be directly linked to the state of spell research as it was at launch. There was no check on prices to keep them deflated to the point where people were paying 500+ for one combine attempt. This has devalued the purchasing power of every player's bank account across both servers. If you can't grasp this that's not my problem. It is what it is

It's no coincidence that there are multiple threads with griping Druids complaining they aren't getting "tipped" enough like some fat stripper in Tijuana. There has been an ongoing run on the player driven market from the get go because supply and demand is all out of whack for a number of reasons, including the inability for pet reliant classes to buy a necessary spell past lvl 20 at launch

I see a lot of projection of supposed intentions onto people like Dolalin to handicap mages at launch as nothing more than trying to make the server as classic as possible.

BS

The reality is people like Dolalin were afraid that mages were going to steamroll content out of the gate with their pet and they took measures to make sure that didn't happen. How else can you prevent mages from doing that? Simple. Remove all their pets 34+ so the first raid kills weren't done with by a bunch of mages and their pets

Think I'm reaching?

Speaking of food, aren't p99 food durations bugged so that all types have the same duration? Snacks and hearty meals last the same time as far as I'm aware. Were they all the same in classic?

That's one fix that probably won't trigger anyone, lol.

Is your dick out for Dolalin or in Dolalin

There was a bug in Classic where you could convert 2k Plat into copper and it would remove all weight restriction/encumbrance/falling damage

Someone needs to submit this in the Green Bug Forum as a necessary feature so it gets put into the game because "It's Classic"
