SAGA OF THE SANCTIONED SPEAR
Following the apprehension of several Halfling thieves; The High Council of Erudin formally appealed to Rivervale's bureaucratic establishment.
Our correspondence thus far has been ignored by Mayor Gubbin. And several couriers have gone missing.
:By Decree of the The High Council of Erudin:
*Halflings are an imminent threat to Leyline stability. All citizens of Rivervale are to comply with forfeit of all hoarded, stolen magical artifacts and Arcane secrets. The Arcane is The High Men of Odus' jurisdiction. Failure to comply will be condemned.*
*All Halfling Deputies are to be relieved of Government issued weapons while we extract the contraband. Spears are under embargo. Possession hereto forth will be a crime in Rivervale and Misty Thicket. Deputies are to be engaged diplomatically. Upon escalation, lethal force to confiscate their Spears is authorized.*
*While the Sanction remains, The Dark Men of Odus are now designated as a Special Task Force.*
Cooperation never kindled as the Deputies refused to negotiate with our onset diplomats. In response, The Dark Men of Odus descended upon Rivervale's exterior defenses in Misty Thicket. Brothers Shaquilleos, Ramal, Jack, Tiffany, and Skullmogger delivered parcel after parcel of Smite and Arcane mastery.
The Thicket started to burn against the will of the Mist. The entirety of their Deputy Corps topping the wall crumbled during the corral. Fires from the Halfling huts burned and reflected like hot coals in the Brothers' eyes.
In a devious device, we managed to sell their own Spears back to the Halfling merchants in the Thicket. Through clever disguise and infiltration of their underground communications, we fooled the vermin to arm what remains of able bodied Halflings in Rivervale with the Spears of their own decimated Deputies. We will be sure to re-collect these Spears to fulfill the Sanction.
Antonicans banded in fruitless solidarity with the Halfings. They continue to commit war crimes during our formal declaration.
A gnome, Treasure Cat, tried to assist the Deputies in their battle. His head was impaled when Deputy Felp blasted through the air by intense and focused Arcanery. Fire beetles emerged pecking at the corpse of Treasure Cat with their pincers. Filling their bellies to feed their young the meat.

Our reinforcements come reliably while the Halflings wimper in fear for their choices. Goblins pour through their gates inflicting terror and destruction, keeping distance from our forces. Lest they incur our wrath as well.
