So imagine you are chilling in a dungeon with your homies. You go to take a piss and a martial artist kicks you in the head then runs off. You give chase and follow him into a room with 5 others, at which point he convincingly fakes his own death despite you having barely touched him.

At this point you are under attack and must decide in the heat of the moment who to concentrate your aggression towards:

1. A steel-clad warrior. He seems to be in your face a lot and is hurling surprisingly effective and personal insults.
2. The martial artist, who was indeed faking his death and is now back up and kicking you some more.
3. A rogue. He is repeatedly stabbing you in the back with sharp objects.
4. Xobaner, a floating torso composed of clods of dirt. It is beating on you with it's dirt-fists. You get the impression it would rather be somewhere else.
5. A magician. You are reasonably certain he is controlling Xobaner. He hasn't done anything to you yet per-say, but he seems to be conserving energy for something and you suspect nothing good will come of it.
6. A shadow knight. He used his magic to surround you in a cloud of disease.
7. A priest, sitting far off in a corner, behind all the others. He had the gall to sit down in your presence. Otherwise, he may or may not be paying attention to what is going on in the room.

Who do you feel you would actually go after in the heat of the moment?

With how you have worded this story, flat out Martial artist for constantly kicking me. However personalty i'd have the mechanics go off
threat generated through dmg /(divided)/ by Successful taunts/agro gains.
That way if damage dealers don't check damage sums they could end up accidentally pulling to much hate from the tanks.

Gotta go with the rogue. Hard to ignore being stabbed in personal places repeatedly.

I spread my goblin/gnoll/kobold claws and beeline for the robed magician. He looks frail enough.

Thanks for the fun read.

That's entertainment! I think that drama queen faking his death, but honestly, I reckon the back stabber will have killed me before I can think too hard on it.

As an NPC, I specifically hate anyone sitting who is not on my hate list. So, get up, I need to add you to my list. No, no, don't sit back down... Get! Up!

You didn't list their race, which I feel is pretty important if I've had previous experiences in dungeons with certain ones. As a Goblin, I may hate certain races and feel that they've ruined their own lands. I may not want them to ruin mine.

Moral of the story: sit aggro is OP

The Cleric, if everybody else is doing something , weaving magics or just paying attention, and amongst them is SOMEBODY doing absolutely NOTHING, then that guy is the BOSS of all those underlings.

Everybody else working doing something and just one guy in the back nodding off?

THAT ONE IS THE WORST!

HE IS PROBABLY MIND CONTROLLING THEM!

LOL if this thread is teaching us anything, it's that taunt is useless.

I feel for you warriors.

Edit: Also who picked Xobaner lmao. Poor guy just ripped from his elemental plane and bound to the will of some asshole mage.

Norrath is a tough place. I'm not aiming for the warrior. Words aint what caused me to come in this room and fight in the first place

The monk would be my first choice but he has already shown an ability to fool me so I gotta look elsewhere.

I'd aim for the rogue. He's doing a lot of damage stabbing me in the back, he looks squishy, and despite his attempts at evading me he's not fooling anyone. He also just tried to pick my pocket and that lucky ruby belonged to my great granddragon

Warrior needs to step up his game.

16 people (so far) forgot that the cleric had divine aura and divine barrier ready to go and is also wearing plate.

Magician for sure. Mess him up then disrupt his spells when he tries to bring them to bear.

Also I'd try to not forget to bravely run away before anyone bothers rooting or darknessing me and look for some friends of mine. These scrubby adventurers somehow don't have a chanter or more than one root class, so we will be able to overwhelm them.

If they ever decided to make an HD Everquest remake, one feature that they should do is when mobs run at low level, they should directly seek help and not just randomly run away

Rogue and mage for sure. Always kill the squishiest with the biggest impact that the cleric cant keep up anyway. Ancient PVP wisdom /touches temple

The sad thing is that in a real PvP game many people act exactly like the NPCs. Let themselves get pulled from group cuz they wanna solo sum bitches, attack whoever 1st gets into melee, etc.

Xobaner is an anti social ass, same as Kobaner and Jibartik I make funny jokes and that just don’t respond but suddenly the mage says something and its “yes master” like gee whiz.

Hate priortization would be on myself for falling for the provocations of the overly dramatic thespian.

Yeah seriously, it takes one second to realize you'd been lured into an ambush. Run NOW to go get some of the many reinforcements to overwhelm these fools. Do NOT wait until you have 15% of your lifeforce remaining to realize that you are outnumbered.

Also run to where your friends are, don't path back and force pacing the room while the rogue keeps backstabbing you.
