I was pretty much baffled by what happened. I am over it but just wanted an overall consensus . I am a level 3 ranger on teal... going thru Qeynos Hills on my way to Surefall Glade. A Gnoll pops on the hill just before Blackburrow. I run over the hill fighting it and on the other side of the hill a lvl 11 druid steals it. I asked " why did you do that?" He said " why do you think Im sitting here? It is my camp. That is my kill." I contacted his higher up in his guild an notified what happened. I know everyone is gonna say.."get over it" ... "you suck " ... "your level 3 .. who cares"... It isnt the first time and won't be the last but...I wish there wasn't so many jerks lol

Druid was a dick, should be reportable for an outside zone, but not uncommon behavior on green.

It’s one Gnoll holy cow you need to relax and move along.

might have been his camp tho, what do we know?
you can camp a spawn in outdoor zones.
maybe you thought attacking a mob just cause you didn't know it was camped cleared you of all guiltyness, but this is not how lawyerquest works.

tldr: you're level 3, you would have made more XP playing the game in the time it took you to write this post and all in all it shows your poor time management skills.

Wait till you are in a full group and a rare spawn or named in your camp pops and a 45+ <Seal Team> Runs by snipes your mob, laughs in ooc then brags about it and says Join our guild because "we get loot".

Then nothing is done and your group moral drops.. are we having fun yet?

A gnoll Hunter would have smoked your level 3 ass

I only posted this to see what kind of responses would happen. I got every almost every answer except the one I hoped for. Is someone allowed to camp an entire area where there are at least 8 spawns and say it is theirs. It wasn't about lost exp. It is to figure out if someone is "entitled" to 1/4 of the zone because he is camping gnolls. Does that mean every gnoll in the zone?

In outside zones you are allowed to camp a single spawn point.

I had a similar experience.

Couple of people running around killing stuff in an outdoor zone. I start fighting one and when they finish with theirs they take my kill. This is our camp!

Can you claim whole sections of a zone as yours?

Exactly. So, OP, if this guy says he was camping THAT gnoll, you would be allowed to camp any other spawn point, as well as FTE any other gnolls that aren't camped.

And don't worry about people saying "It's just one gnoll!!1!" because any rational person knows it's not about that one gnoll. It's about the next time, and the time after that, and the time after that.... OP asked for our help in understanding the rules - and whether people actually follow them.

your answer was two posts above.
you don't want an answer to your question,
you want someone to tell you you are right.

I like how you literally pose a scenario in which you very well could have been in the wrong for taking the guy's single spawn and then twist the scenario to "claiming an entire area" once you don't get the type of responses you were expecting

Recently started an alt to play and can confirm qhills is still bad, except instead of 1 person per spawn, its one mage camping the entire front ent to BB and claiming it as his.

Name's Caster - mage - erud, real sad to see.

edit: and for people saying why don't u petition, i have ran into so much toxicity i rather log off and just forum quest for a while and watch some TV. wait until night time when the beards are all around and are nice to eachother. prime time is really nasty :(

Would have been sorta stupid to camp a single spawn , sitting down on the other side of the hill where you can't see it. I came over the hill fighting the gnoll...I wanted to be closer to the entrance to BB to zone if I had to. The druid came blasted it. I asked why. He said it was his he was sitting there. If I thought there was a chance I screwed up somehow I would admit to it. I just don't see how you can camp something you can't see until it gets to you.

The only scenario I can come up with was the Gnoll was snared and the druid had run ahead to meditate. If that was the case then Im wrong. Other then that I don't see it. Oh well , take care all.

I have been killing gnolls here. Here is how normal, emotionally stable people do it. Yes, sometimes I sit in one place because I know gnolls will pop there. When they do I kill them. If someone comes along and tags it first, I note to myself “oh, they got it. Good for them”. Or if I am feeling feisty, I say to myself “oh fiddlesticks”. And then I look for something else.
