How is server merge going to work with accounts?

Actually I had a question about what happens when these accounts merge back to Blue, the reason being that they've allowed you to create the same character names as those on Blue. What happens to two different characters with the same name when the accounts are merged?

Rogean said that the green accounts would merge into blue and if your character is vossiewulf on blue and you have one on green it would then be vossiewulfx.

At this time, we haven't made a final decision, but we have also decided that we will leave the door open. A lot can change in 3 years, and we may chose to leave Green running independently as we open additional servers in the future

This is the most recent official release on the announcement section of forums(look under green trailer), I will try to find where it went further stating it wouldn’t be happening at all. Green/teal will start over at end of timeline and a new green will start merging into original Green/teal as much has been said by a GM somewhere just have to find it.

If you have that it would be good to know I think a decent portion of the community expects or wants a merge with blue.

I would say the opposite in that most everyone I’ve heard or spoken with strongly doesn’t want a merge into a 14yr old blue

I mean I think the people who post the most on the green/teal forums are against it but people I've talked to on here, on discord, and in game have been in both directions. A day or two ago there was a poll on the merge which seemed pretty split.

I think the idea is to keep Green 1.0 as a permanent server and all future Greens will roll into it. Blue is irreparable due to beta fuckery, so it’s going to be left alone with the possible addition of custom content in the future.

Well, in my opinion, the characters earned on Blue were earned under a different rule set and on a server that at times had huge QOL advantages over the current crop of Green characters. That means guilds of Blue characters would absolutely dominate raid content on on Green 1.0. I think merging Green 1.0 and an eventual Green 2.0 at the end of it’s lifecycle would be a much less catastrophic merger. Green 1 would probably always dominate, but not to crazy extent Blue would.

The best thing is they've got 3 years to think about it if they do want to change it. What anyone individually prefers to happen and/or negatively reacts to doesn't mean anything to the overall course of green/teal.

Just get on and enjoy the experience rather than stressing about 3 years time <3

Still funny at the pearl clutching of people thinking "classic eq economy gonna be healthy after it's locked in velious indefinitely". Fuck it's a rot server in 3 years time your notion of purity is kinda funny... On top of people bragging of circumventing list and boxing rules on the forum but nope no one's trying to break Green's economy.
