Could one of you programmer smarties whip up a quick log parser that greps char names class race and level from logs and stores them so we can gather a true census?

Bonus if

- it updates level and does not duplicate. :D

- Deletes char data that is > 4 weeks old or create a separate (not seen) field.

- has a website we can upload our logs after we do some /whos to update it.

Seems like an abnormally high number of people are /Anon or /role so doing this by character name would be incomplete. Using count you get around this but it's then anonymous.

not much you can do about that. I just do my census then look at the population. The difference is people anon. Seems to be able 25-30% might be more as people get higher level.

I'm anon because I'm self conscious about my level.

I don't think so. I did a count last night and it returned ~830 players while the website said ~950. Guessing the discrepancy is because of the anon players.

My understanding is the discrepancy is ppl at the character screen.

15% - 20% of the population? I think that's part of it, but I find it hard to believe that's all of it.

If you look at my census from tonight in my post above you can see I added the server total near the total from the count.

So just do the percentage of 961 from 1101 and that is how many were anon on the server.

It certainly counts either /anon or /role because on Teal atm /who all 43 returns nothing and /who all count 43 returns 1.

I think count includes everyone not on character select. During quiet times I’ll sometimes do who all pal, get 14 or so players. Then do count and get 17.
