Reinforced armour has the same AC as banded, but with a much lower weight!
This is true for the following slots:
Face,
Neck,
Boots.
If you want to min max your banded armour set, your best bet is to swap those three slots out for reinforced leather and save a couple of pounds.
Also, everyone knows leather boots look way cooler than chainmail socks!
I always wear cloth hats though for the main character in movies effect of course.
Btw reinforced isn't until velious I thought?. Did it accidentally make it on green?

What JimJam said in the OP Is True
Reinforced Mask : 4 AC / 0.3 WT
Banded Mask : 4 AC / 1.0 WT
-
Reinforced Gorget: 5 AC / 0.4 WT
Banded Gorget: 5 AC / 2.0 WT
-
Reinforced Boots: 6 AC / 1.9 WT
Banded Boots: 6 AC / 5.0 WT
AC does affect how much melee damage you take on P99. The devs have worked hard to make sure it's as classic as possible.

Reinforced armor is 13 pieces for 77AC. Full set is 26.1 weight.
https://wiki.project1999.com/Banded_Armor
Banded armor is 13 pieces for 91AC. Full set is 47 weight.
https://wiki.project1999.com/Bronze_Armor
The Bronze Armor is 13 pieces for 110AC. Full set weighs 86
The weight on the hats isn't too god awful for monks either.

Raising blacksmithing to banded trivial levels is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier than raising tailoring to reinforced trivial levels.
But yes - weight sensitive people need such information. Thanks.

This makes iit sound like non-bigguns have something like gluten intolerance to heavy gear lmao.

Yeah, but you’re missing the obvious advantage of banded being superior fashion quest.

Sounds like a politically correct way of saying weak people.

Of the three slots mentioned, only boots are visible. The other two don't impact your fashion either way.

Who is making these? WTB!
Not sure who else is tailoring, assuredly people on Teal / Green in the 40s got the skill early before everyone else...
but as of right Sedition is likely 108+ and I (Mjai) am 109 after wasting dozens of HQ Cat pelts on tailored quivers because reinforced is listed as Velious era. =P
Get the mats (studs/pelt/pattern) and I can click these for you if you track me down. But if they're removing these retroactively when they fix Magician pet research it may not be worth it. So few people have any of the pieces and I'd gather and its a matter of weight for most, so I don't know that I'd get too excited.

I apologise if wiki is right and this reinforced is Velious / this turns out to be a troll thread ...
Doesn't the recipes for reinforced / steel boning exist on the in game guide books? Should be easy to confirm reinforced is not classic / Velious on non-wiki resources.
Were the game guide books updated to reflect velious changes though or were they classic? No idea what wiki evidence exists for that but I trusted it just because it seemed so damn good for some of the slots. And yes it is in game as I've made pieces for people.

Reinforced recipes are listed in my Kunark Prima guide, so it absolutely predates Velious.
