My Husband Is Playing His First Game Ever!

I am SO happy! I have been trying to get my husband to game with me for over 15 years!! Usually it is him saying "You gonna game today??" Encouraging me (so he can go watch baseball, or something lol).

Meet Geezer- a dark elf wizard. (He named him after Geezer Butler bass player for Black Sabbath). He decided on a dark elf wizard because he felt that would be the least stressful class to start out on. He was interested in possibly a tank or a ranger, but felt that something like a wizard would help him learn the game, the keys, how it all works without killing people in groups, lol :)

He felt that since green was starting and everyone was starting at ground zero, this was a good time for him to finally experience all of what I am addicted to. All the things we forget about, "How do I open a door?" "How do I find this loc?" He is a wee little one :)

He has Black Sabbath's The Wizard blaring, as he tries to figure out the wiki map all over Neriak for his trainer :) If you see him, please be nice and give him a warm welcome!!

Geezer is doing excellent! He is actually back to work this week so he has not had as much time. But he made it to level 5 the other day!

To funny he will walk around the house, and without saying a word ... stop and flash me his open hand hand with 5 fingers with that look of "oh yeah baby." (So excited he got lvl 5).

I am sure he will pop on here before work when he wakes or before he leaves.

What a daredevil. Hotheaded wizard! You should use Hide all the time. It doesn’t always work, so you have to con something when you turn it on. And it doesn’t hide you from undead.

If you like being a DE, you might want to think about switching over to necro. Wizzies are pretty much meditating, then stand up and nuke the crap out of something, and back to meditating until the next fight.

There is considerably more action playing a necro with all sorts of slows and DOTs, plus you have a kick-ass pet. Necro can solo about anywhere also, whereas wizards are very much group characters.

So after a half hour of playing around with the character select...

You will definitely enjoy him. And when you hit 16 and get Feign Death to go along with all your snares and dots and nukes is when you reach the MUHAHAHA point and start rampaging through outdoor zones. With practice you should be able to be killing at least two but often three or more things at once using a technique called Fear Kiting (https://wiki.project1999.com/Sesserdrix%27s_All_in_One_Necromancer_Strategy_Gui de#Fear_Kiting).

And that's why necro is the number #1 choice of people who also want to be watching the football/basketball/calvinball game on the TV in the background. Your wife mentioned that was pretty high on your activity list also.

Thought I would give a little update on Geezer (LabBoy). Santa got him a new gaming chair (upgrade from the metal fold-up chair) and a Ibanez ukulele. So I am making my veggie broth in the kitchen and calls me into the living room.. (I thought he was sleeping cause he has to work tonight!)... But there he is, like a little kid, so happy and gleaming... proud to show off his new eq set up, chair and all, playing Black Sabbath's "The Wizard" on the ukulele that he taught himself, getting some eq in before he goes to sleep.

Geezer is now level 7, working on 8! I told him he can start grouping around 8! He said no way am I grouping without you, hehe poor guy. So I will need to make something that will make us lucrative to groups and that will complement well.

What goes with wizard? Druid, bard, enchanter perhaps. I think those duos only really come into their full power after quadding becomes an option, however. I believe you two might be best served forming a group with more than just the two of you. If that will be the case, you can probably pick any group-foundation class. Good luck.
