As we are getting closer I have settled on my race/class combo. I have done the majority of my starts in the Faydwer or Queynos areas but this time I plan on starting in Rivervale (something I have never done). I am excited to explore Runnyeye as I haven't spent much time there. Does anyone with experience grouping in there have any insight into what it will be like?

Runnyeye is a great choice and can be a lot of fun. I imagine it could get a bit hairy with some gobby/shroom trains from people sucking further down in though.

There is a nice camp setup for a group where you can pull from below while being closer to a zoneline if shit goes south.

I marked it with a red circle just before the 2nd level. You can see the zoneline to the Gorge just down the hallway to the left.

Good luck!

I have always enjoyed Misty as a starting zone for being both protected from random high level spawns such as the vengefuls in Everfrost and having very low level wolves for access to pelts for cheap and easy armor pieces.Sure it is tattered leather but it beats cloth and tailoring a full set of tattered at low level isn't very difficult or expensive and can last a bit in a classic setting.Once you reach the level for Runnyeye it can be either a great zone for xp or a frustration depending on the zone population and any trains but danger can be minimized by sticking to a spot like Maelstrom pointed out.

Is this advice pre revamp or post revamp? I didn't think fungus spawned pre revamp but not sure.

Just be aware that one of the most accessible vendors in Misty Thicket is a greedy vendor! She charges twice as much and pays half as much. Aside from that, Missy is a great place during a schnauzer

Edit, that was a voice to text error but I'm leaving it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Its hard to get past level 7 without leaving misty thicket. Runnyeye is pretty tough at that level.

1-7 misty is a lovely magical place.

I was thinking about that leveling pathwise Gustoo, hopefully I find some people to group with to help get over the hurdle and eventually move into HHP.

Pre-revamp I believe. No alloy stuff.

misty is a rough zone because they took out the undead ruins camp near the ent that help you get to 10

If Runnyeye is like Classic Live, watch out for Borxx - she paths from the depths all the way up to the Gorge zone-out.

Where ever I can find groups which dont seem to start till level 4 or 5.

Some times you can catch early groups of lvl 1 and 2's and ride them to 5 or 10.

I’ve never grouped that early. Is that advisable ?

I don't know. I'm rolling a Cleric and my plan is to get on the newbie log, shout forming group, then take anyone and just try to keep everyone within the 550 unit experience leash so people can share. For the first couple of levels everyone is just stabbing shit with their newbie dagger and it's chaos in the newbie yard and everyone is running back and forth to the merchants and trainers so we'll see how that works out :)

Don't forget that at launch Kithicor was a newbie zone too -- no undead until the epic battle/event.

Soloquest sucks to me. I like Groupquest. So yes, I advise it.

Wait what? The undead was there at night on classic release?

Kithicor did not have the high level undead at night until the "Battle of Bloody Kithicor" event with the launch of Hate - it was basically a newbie(esque) zone before that. The goblins, bixies, etc that you still see there during the day.

Also, you can't trust anyones advice this close to launch, they're going to steer you wrong.
You should go to befallen from Rivervale, best ZEM. =D

Confirmed that this server has classic pre-Hate newb-friendly Kithicor, and it's totally empty because most people don't realize it.

Sadly, it does not use classic faction modifiers. After all the work that went into isolating and figuring out each class/deity/race for each faction - even though ultimately Daybreak released a patch last year that made this very easy to see - this is very disappointing to me, personally.

If you want something fixed, report the bug with evidence in the bug forums. Telin is on a rampage fixing newbie zone stuff at the moment.

It's known -- the issues and the fixes -- just not implemented.
