Order in which im leaning and need something to push me:

1. Human Ranger
2. Halfling Cleric
3. Halfling Druid
4. Ogre Shaman
5. Unknown Paladin

I want a ranger or a priest likely. I like to kick some ass but I like healing too.
Its mostly between the Human Ranger or Halfling Cleric,
but I might just go druid since they are easy to do, but numerous. I may never be able to reach any goals as a Cleric since I am required to have someone else do the work.

I might just make the Human Ranger and Halfling Cleric both if I can be happy with two characters ;D

Cannot decide a race for my Paladin. Human? Half-elf? High elf? I'd go Erudite, but my Blue main is an Erudite SK.

I keep thinking I've decided and then I change my mind. Will probably still be agonizing over this at the character select screen.

I mained a DE necromancer a long time ago before I quit. I was considering either rolling another DE necromancer to relive those days, make an erudite necromancer, troll shaman or just try something I normally wouldnt like.. a high elf cleric lol. I'm a noob again though so was thinking of just sticking to what I know best. Or go shaman and befriend some people who would like to duo.

Cen, Go cleric so someone can heal my human SK! Or paladin if last minute decision decides that way haha.

Jk, I say pick two.. one to main and one when you need a break from whatever job the first char always gets haha

Man all I know is I don't want to fucking pull again.

Maybe DE Cleric so I can be a snaric once the symbol quests release.

I'm messing around with a mage on the beta server an I am having fun with that, but I like being a snowflake and I hate that everyone will be the same as me if I roll mage!

So many choices!

Here is my suggestion. Play two classes to start. Make one a Druid and pick whichever you want to play most for the other. Lets say you pick the Ranger for the second just for the sake of this discussion.

Druids are one of the best soloing classes and can be leveled up quickly. You don't even have to get the Druid all the way to 50 right off the bat. 34 should be high enough for making your Ranger's life so much easier. Root/rot and grouping as the healer will make this leveling process go quickly if you are motivated.

By the time you get to 34 you would have all self druid ports and most of the group ones. By then there should be an economy going and you will find making PP either at cash camps or porting for donations more than doable. How did this help your Ranger you start playing?

1). You now have a cash cow to pay for Rangers spells if you need it which you may not. But what you definitely have is an errand boy who can go get those spells for you without running across multiple zones or worse having to wait forever on a boat. Druid ports right to the vendors, buys spells, puts in a bag and delivers to the zone Ranger is in. Now you get someone to transfer or you can even transfer to yourself if you need to. Just drop bag in a remote area, camp to ranger and pick up bag with ranger.

2). Druid can buff group mates as you level up. hitting an orc highway group with 34+ druid buffs and then camping to ranger makes killing much faster and easier. You don't have to do this of course but it's nice to be able to.

3). Druid can be something to do when you can't find a group. Looking for group for an hour straight with no success? Camp to Druid and work on getting to lvl 35 or whatever his next level is. 34 Druids can quad kite which is big fun and decent XP. Then after awhile you can camp back over and try again to see if a group is around.

4). Druids can help your ranger solo early levels when fear kiting isn't an option yet. It's 2 am and your all alone in oasis as a 15 Ranger trying to hit 16 before you go to bed? Killing blues with face tanking is proving to be dangerous and brutally slow? Log in druid, pull a Deep water Caimen or something that normally cons white, yellow or barely red to your ranger at that level. Pull said croc to the exact spot your ranger is camped at and root him there. Now snare croc and use druids root and low level nukes to bring crock to 0-2% health. Camp to character screen and switch to ranger fast. Crock will be 15-22% health when you get in as ranger. If under 20% he stays turned and won't even bite you as you finish him off. You get full XP and took little to no damage.

5). Once lvl 60 and PotG is available you can makes lots of friends and make yourself wealthy by casting PotG on others for donation.

Would some consider the above cheating or not playing the game the way it was intended? Sure. They are merely suggestions on how you can save time, earn PP for other characters needs and make a lot of new friends as everyone loves to befriend Druids and Clerics for obvious reasons.

Good solo, desired for groups and sow at lvl 9. Not a bad choice.

Pretty convincing :D Thanks also I see you have most of those classes! (I was Bard/Wizard on Blue. Always was jealous druids got the better ports and more port requests :))

I'm basically frothing at the mouth for friday afternoon. Munchies are purchased. Toons are selected. Helping the less fortunate with installs now(google drive is good for this). Even talked an early 20-something into giving it a try. I feel like a champion.

Always played a Ranger , my first class. Though it was a woodelf. Really thinking I want to go human Ranger this time. To be different and have a totally different starting area and experience. Should be fun! Still very doable. Going to go the tradeskill and self sufficient route. Keeping supplied for long trips away from civilization, tracking my prey through the wilds with bow , spell, and sword!

Worst in classic (and presumable in Kunark and Velious as well) is probably Human Wizard of Bertox.

Blind, fugly, bad faction, average stats, no group wants them, solo means quadding blue mobs, no farming potential, no good duo class.

Ideally you'd want to put all your starting points into AGI.

Very heavily leaning Half-Elf for my Paladin now, but I still might change my mind fifty times between now and launch.

Mostly decided - I have a "grouping" class and a "solo" class for when I have less time available and just want to muck around.

Just unsure which I want to level first. My playtime is minimal these days, so I might only get one to 50 by the time the planes hit.... so I might have to choose just one class that I have a shot at guise / manastone / rubicite / jboots / etc. on.

Ugh.

Yeah but you're still a Wizard. You can port, join any raid guild you want, afk in groups and no one cares.

That's nowhere near Ranger levels of masochism.

I'm really struggling between 3 choices -

Human Ranger - New experience. I've always been a Kelethin or Felwithe guy. I know almost nothing about Qeynos area. I've always wanted to play a Ranger though! Tracking, fletching, outdoor zone badassery. Only problem is getting to 30+ to get all the fun spells will be tough.

High Elf Cleric - Pure Nostalgia. My choice as a 14 year old way back when EQ was released. I know I'll like it.

High Elf Wizard - Combines the geographical area I know best with something new class-wise. Also, I can solo and run errands/exercise/do other things while I'm medding which is actually a plus for me. Plus ports and I like nuking stuff!

Wizzy will be a great grouper on a fresh server due to the slow killing speed and increased downtime (as compared to Blue) and evacs will be more desirable as wipes will be far more likely as well

I always wanted to play a Gnome Necro since I did Druid back in 2002-2004.

I just don't know if I will be KOS with good cities so kinda going in blindly about what city I can visit and what I can't.

Kinda hope I can do belt quest since I never did a single quest or got past lvl 26 back in my hay days.
