Kicking Snakes

I fought 10-20 snakes in Qeynos yard & didn't see a single kick. At launch snakes could kick.

Indeed, kicking snakes wasn't patched out until September 2006.

It's still not fixed at launch. These non-kicking snakes are ruining my immersion :(

Sony had the ability to individually set NPC skill levels. Just because Sony had removed kick from some snakes in 2006 does not mean that all snakes had kick before then. Furthermore the default level NPCs gained bash was 6 and for kick was in the mid teens so it's highly unlikely that any NPC under those levels would bash or kick regardless.

I cannot find a single case of a an NPC with 'snake' in the name kicking in my logs, actually. (I have 10 gigs of logs)

They do however bash at level 6:

Well then. Can't argue with that.

Snakes kicking was totally a thing though, it's even mentioned in the loading screen. So which snakes would have been high enough level to kick I wonder?

The Shissar NPCs are kicking in these logs. The only full-snake model NPC I've found kicking are Plane of Storms Krendic slitherers. In fact Sony seemed to have removed kick from most snakes long before that patch note; Vilefang and entropy serpents are not kicking and are only bashing for example.

September 2006 is the month that the Serpent's Spine expansion launched, which has a lot of snakes in it. I believe that patch note was referring to the snakes in that expac more so than other NPCs.
