Research components (words, runes, etc) should not be stackable until May 1999 patch

Please provide at least one reference if this should be research components or reagents or both.

I found a mailing list post that refers to this as being a research components stacking fix.

I do not see any references to spell reagents eg bat wings etc. I'm pretty sure those always stacked.

It may be a leftover bug. if not, the NON stacking is for necro, but I believe it is a leftover bug.

(Just as an aside, the reason there were two kinds of words of Dominion is because the necromancer Charm spell used to be researchable with words of Dominion and Possession(?))

More evidence of non-stackable components. It seems in typical Verant fashion that they were not fully made stackable, some necro words still did not stack in early July 1999.

Is it just me or has anyone else notices that most Necro research words are still single items while every reseach page and research ruin I find are stackable? I'm lucky enough to have a guild who saves me words but I have no room left to keep them.

I have also gotten several non-stackable words in the last several days. Most are stackable though.

Looks like Necromancer spell research items were not made (fully) stackable until July 26 1999 patch:


- Necromancer Research materials can be stacked.
