Ok, someone needs to set the record straight. I keep seeing AM responding to the barrage of jokes with things like " its summer bro" and " well we owned the server for 3 years bro". Let's not rewrite history here. Awakened dominated AM. It wasn't until "He Who Shall Not Be Named" started his assault against AW and its leadership did AM start to gain a foothold. AW was raid suspended for 4 consecutive months, culminating in its eventual destruction. "Change leadership or be raid banned for life" was the ultimatum, essentially. After bleeding hardcore raiders for months, and months of raid suspensions, AM finally became what it was up until recently. So let's not act like they were some elite org that dethroned the former master. The scales were heavily tilted for "healthy competition", or the mirage of it anyway. Here's a video of this "elite guild" cothing up to Lady Nev for no fucking reason. They literally cothed like 50 people up there before realizing no dragon even spawned.

The remnants of AW, splintered as they were (another story), formed Tempest, Core, and joined other guilds. Tempest was a shell of the former guild, mainly due to so many people leaving/going casual/internal issues after being fucked with by the <Matrix>. Even so, we competed against the Zerg that was AM. They had recruited most of the raiding server as the only viable option to even see end game content, given AW's demise. And boy what a zerg they were! I remember Tempest killing Kreizenn and other NTOV dragons with 35-40 people ROUTINELY, while AM logged in 100 people to stand around and watch us. AM fielding 100 plus, even for mobs like Ikatiar, was the norm. Tempest killed Doze once with like, 25 people. So....yea.

Even though Tempest was 1/4 the size of AM, and we lost almost all our Euros, we still were able to compete for the spiciest of dragons, especially if they popped friendly to our timezone. There was a time when Tempest was even beating AM on Doze. Imagine that. A guild crushed by suspensions, now with 25% of the manpower, no Euro players, and still beating the "Strike Force" or whatever the fuck they call themselves. Gimme a fucking break. Let me tell you what I have observed as a consistent truth from what I have see in my 20 years on live, and 1 1/2 years on P99.

ALL guilds have total assholes in them, and very talented kind helpful people. There is no exception.

ALL guilds have a GL that is totally passionate and moody and emotional. Almost Bi-Polar you might say. They all have their freak-out moments over good and bad things. Seems to me they act as if their guild is their child to both be ultimately proud of and ultimately chastise when they see things they don't like. (Oddly enough, I have never known a GL to just run the guild as a business to just get the job done without being all emotional. /shrug)

But, in the end, it's just a game. No different than Pac-Man with better graphics. The only difference is you can socio-media with your other players in the game.

What I do see is people judging their guild, both internally and externally, on the pixal drop. If those people could concentrate on the journey, and not the payout, they'd be so much less stressed out and have a lot more fun.

Does it matter where a guild's members came from? No. People come and go from a guild all the time. Guilds form and fold all the time. Players are made up of assholes and cool people. This reflect the RL person behind the toon.

I'll leave you with a RL quote of a passed friend that always told us at work:

The remnants of AW, splintered as they were (another story), formed Tempest, Core, and joined other guilds. Tempest was a shell of the former guild, mainly due to so many people leaving/going casual/internal issues after being fucked with by the <Matrix>. Even so, we competed against the Zerg that was AM. They had recruited most of the raiding server as the only viable option to even see end game content, given AW's demise. And boy what a zerg they were! I remember Tempest killing Kreizenn and other NTOV dragons with 35-40 people ROUTINELY, while AM logged in 100 people to stand around and watch us. AM fielding 100 plus, even for mobs like Ikatiar, was the norm. Tempest killed Doze once with like, 25 people. So....yea.

Even though Tempest was 1/4 the size of AM, and we lost almost all our Euros, we still were able to compete for the spiciest of dragons, especially if they popped friendly to our timezone. There was a time when Tempest was even beating AM on Doze. Imagine that. A guild crushed by suspensions, now with 25% of the manpower, no Euro players, and still beating the "Strike Force" or whatever the fuck they call themselves. Gimme a fucking break. Tempest had like 2 good weeks, and that was in summer btw. The need to write this at all is all kinds of yeesh lol. Lets not even get into all the forced concessions that were for the most part utter bullshit and wouldnt even be overturned despite evidence provided. I lived it, because a good portion of the evidence were from my recordings. However bellringer needed the best mobs conceded in order to keep his playmakers around (mainly kelza and lets be honest tempest wasnt doing jack until kelza came back). Ill admit that strategy of his was a shining factor in his leadership, to whine as hard as he could to get what he could to keep the threads together. Didnt last long, and as I recall... stopped happening as hard as it did when sirken got temporarily suspended. Pretty strange indeed. Of course im not implying anything ill let your own imagination do the work.

Basically the champs just get bored of playing an old emulated game and quit then TMO/AM "takes over" and acts like they're special.
