2 more years of classic and kunark sounds just terrible. The p99 experience for me is all about 1-59, so I'm sure I'll play, but honest to god the idea of starting over and fighting the unemployed masses is just mind numbing.
Manastones really arnt that great and playing as a Dark Elf gets old fast.
The only thing fun about playing untwinked is knowing your next char can be twinked.

You’re asking in an echo chamber of autism. Trust me unless you’re some power gamer green will be lame af at least at first because classic and kunark is so small can’t handle this pop.

yeah but people had dial up modems that would boot you from time to time and people held full time jobs back then.
we are now in an era of man children with cable modems and obama phones.
green server was supposed to compete with classic wow but when blizzard gets 15 a month per player its impossible to compete purely with volunteers.

I remember 300 on during a weekday and around 800 online on the weekend, pre kunark Bristlebane server. Burned into memory because I had a conversation about the player number with the guy who got me into EQ and PC games.

Innoruuk had 1,000-1,300 online prime time during classic.

I imagine Green is mostly for experiencing "oh haha this is what it's like to try to grind xp in unrest with rusty weapons and cloth and no level 60 druid buffing us" and then after you realize how slow leveling is half of the population quits and the other half struggles to be the coolest kid on the short bus by getting a manastone or guise.

No guys with 2 accounts full of level 60s giving plat and low level items away in EC either, but it will never be the same. They got a fully detailed wiki to look at, having access to what? 90% of the games mysteries instead of like 5% of them. Plus "gaming" being normal for over 20 years. They will never get a chance to truly suck but not realize it. Polished Granite Tomahawk is phat lewt? woot!
Will any of them have their bottoms eat their desk chair when they wander into Kithicor Forest at night?

Will their be any groups rounding up players in EC to hunt dark elf guards in Nek Forest because there was a rumor of them dropping top end gear?
Likewise, will players form hunting groups to track down GMs because they drop amazing rings? (yep game master/guides)
You know there is no Kraken Sea Monster in OOT.. not even a hint of possibility you will be eaten. Also the monster in Lake Rathe.. levitating to the highest point possible before running over the water but with the dial up at the time you sank pretty fast.. tense at any moment you are gonna be that guy in the wrong place at the wrong time.

There's no red equivalent planned yet so enjoy the influx of your favorite red pals into over camped lguk
Wonder if Vyrenoth is out yet

Be more respectful when invoking the name of Vyneroth, God of Maces.

Oddly enough, with Rogean/Nilbog supposedly toying with the idea of custom content on blue, it might be blue and not green that recaptures the spirit of that era. If they implement weird rare spawns and rare (hopefully non-game-breaking) drops, vague quests and things like that, we might see the return of the rumor mill.
That's a pretty big IF though.
That said, there's still a few rare mobs and rare drops that never get any attention. They're on the wiki (although I suspect there are some that are not) but no one really bothers with them.

I'm more interested in staying on p99 blue to see what custom content comes out. Is there any sort of compilation on what that could possibly be?

Yeah I like the idea of the whole server working together (or even working separately if it seems like it might be a END GAME ITEM at the end) to figure out some obscure quest, ala epic quests back in the day.
I still have no idea how people figured out some of the epic stuff. Some of it is handing in weird rare drops to NPCs and hoping its the right item, and some of the quests have SURPRISE BOSS FIGHT so I guess you had to roll with a raid force just in case

Due to their loot or...?

It'll be a new server without enough clerics.
Hell, I may play it just for that. Roll a cleric, let groups fawn over me, collect lootz.
Or, if I can't find a group, quit. That's the cleric way, right?
