Hey Andarion I definitely don’t think we’ve hit any kind of max capacity, but I’m a blue player so might need an active green officer to confirm. Your best bet is asking anyone in guild (east commons is always a safe bet) if they could have an officer reach out.

Greetings to everyone posting on here about joining Castle. There is a discord and we can tee up officers to reach out, it’s a big help if you can include your server (we’re on green and blue!) character and primary time of play.

As always your best bet is to reach out to any player in Castle (/who all castle), expressing your interest, and asking if there’s an officer available to connect with you. It can take a couple tries as we’re all busy playing the game we love (oh and real life... sometimes) and don’t always have anyone immediately available.

The officer will ask you some questions and help determine if you’re a good fit for the guild. Please be patient and we look forward to connecting with each of you.

Hi Braselton, we are active on both servers and would love to connect you with an officer to make sure Castle is a good fit. The best way to get in contact with an officer is doing a /who all castle and messaging someone asking to speak with an officer. If that doesn’t do the trick we can ping the discord server but it’s a little more tricky timing wise and messaging while you’re online is a good bet

So my followup post got eaten last night or something.

I played EQ originally from launch through Luclin. I was a 60 cleric in a pretty hard core raid guild on Tholuxe Paells which was fun. I just found P99 a few weeks ago and have been having a blast! This is still such a great game! Being 20 years older with work and a family to tend to I am looking for a guild home that fits my stage of life. From what I have read on this thread and having interacted and/or grouped with a few Castle members (hi Ithi!) I think Castle could be a great fit.

So I went away from my healer days and decided to play melee. I am currently a level 23 Ranger and climbing. I hope to land on the positive side of your consideration!

I have a Iskar character but was unable to find a Castle guild member who was around my level (level 3) who was also an Iskar, most were higher level 30 or 50. I can also create a race which is easy to group up with for lower levels though not sure how to get around the world and which race is able to find groups easily. Hi Seoraef, which server did you say you play on? It’s definitely a good idea to group with someone from the guild because at the end of the day we want to make sure it’s a good fit. I don’t believe it’s a hard and fast rule, best bet is to ask to speak with an officer. They’ll know all the rules for joining and be able to talk you through to understand if you’d like Castle and be a good candidate to join the garrison.

Just keep messaging Castle players and asking if there’s an officer, as you’d like to know more about joining. (Pro tip, first impressions matter so definitely try to maximize thise interactions).

I'd quite like to join as a New Player, for somewhere to listen/chat and not feel lonely whilst I slowly play my character.

I am a 34 year old NHS worker from the UK, so I will be playing predominantly in the BST/GMT time zone; however, because I work a shift rota, I will pretty much play at all hours of the day.

I might never have time to Raid, but I played back in 2001 for eight hours a day without raiding -- I was happy levelling alts in a group setting and was very active on my highest level (Druid) in the newbie zones. This time I will be forgoing the Druid -- against all advice I have read online -- for a Ranger. I may make another Druid one day, but for now, I want to focus on the Ranger.

I will message someone in the game directly when I get a chance. I have to sleep soon, though.

I would probably revisit playing a solo capable class. You're not always going to have guildies to level with and an untwinked rogue is one of the least self-sufficient classes in the game. Casters have spells so they're not nearly as gear dependent and they have all kinds of utility playing solo or with groups.

I do want to clarify that I just joined P1999 and am new but I have played EQ since Kunark went live originally. I did retire from live a couple years ago but I am glad to have found this version due to how much I preferred it.

I'm an old time live server player who retired about 3 years ago. Been playing on Brell Serilis and later on Antonious Bayle as a ranger named Muvien for many years.
I've recently started playing abit on green and and made myself another ranger and made it to 20 so far :) Go by Muvien on green aswell. I'm very casual these days and playtimes vary alot, but I'm looking to find a casual guild with members to chat to and level with. I dont expect to get back into raiding. Maybe when I'm 50+ and if the chance arises I might join but definatly not a requirement for me.

To answer some common questions:
• <Castle> has no level requirement to join. Neither do we require a certain amount of playtime, etc.
• We are on both Green and Blue servers. On both servers, we have members who raid and who do not raid. Feel free to ask more.
• Our Discord server is our main way of coordinating outside of the game. Most of our officers don't frequent the forums.
• Our only requirement is agreeing to these rules:

Castle Rules:
(1) no real-life politics or contentious real-life issues in guild chat
(2) no real-life slurs in guild chat
(3) no fights or freakouts in guild chat - use /tells or talk to an officer
(4) follow all Project 1999 rules such as no RMT or multi-boxing
(5) don't be a jerk.

Easy way to find an officer online is to type /who all Castle and send a /tell to anyone telling them you want to join and would to talk to an officer if able.

Enchanter can be rough at low levels compared to other pet classes or pretty much anything. It starts getting good in the 20s when you have breeze, a useful -mr spell, stun, charm, ae mez, etc. Not sure the best way to solo, but pets have very high hp regen so make sure your animation takes a beating before you step in to minimize your down time.

Awesome to hear! I wrote up what the process looks like. It's just a couple steps, but I'm not good at being brief, so this is probably more detail than you want.

The guild joining process goes like this:
1. join our Discord (to avoid spammers, I'm going to add some spaces in here-- put this in your browser without the spaces: dis cord.gg / castlegreen)
2. We ask if you're here to join the guild, and whether you raid with any other guilds. You don't have to have raided, it's just making sure you aren't also a member of a guild we compete with. Then we ask you if you're okay with our (very short) rules.
3. If you agree to the rules, you're in and welcome as a member. (If you want to raid, there's a similar signup process for that once you're a member.)
4. We have a channel in our Discord for in-game invites and we'll do our best to have someone connect with you asap for that.

If you do not use Discord at all, we can still invite you, but someone goes over the questions above with you in-game. Also, if you want to raid, you do have to use Discord for that-- both to sign up as a raider and to be present and listening in our voice chats. (If you are Deaf/hard of hearing/other reason that doesn't work well, we have a transcription bot that will turn raid leaders' voices into text for you.)
