Heck, just have no resurrection spells of any kind and it would be hardcore. I started on this server in 2013 and even then, I rarely had to eat an experience death after level 30, there were clickies everywhere. People would flip their shit if they could never get a res in the 50s.

People would finally learn EQ's secret: You don't need any end-game drops to play and enjoy the game.

It would be really cool trying a PoH break in as those can be fairly nasty.

Would make items from those areas that much more rare and valuable. Like you have to tangle with the Gods and live in order to get them.

That said, permadeath in EQ is just too harsh.

EQ Permadeath is indeed like RL mode. Would be cool as someone mentioned having no rez in game (even revive).

Each death maybe you lose a level completely (i.e. lose amount of exp to gain a level you are currently in). That would make hell level death horrible.

Anticipate you'd have more evacers in groups, people would group more to make up exp, less soloists, more full groups in dungeons, potential more cash drain on gate pots / WC cap recharges, etc.

That being said, it would be a CSR nightmare from all the petitions. If you make it no CSR then griefers will just train you to death with level 1's. So doubt it would ever happen.

Permadeath servers only work if it’s pvp of course. No one will be raiding any DT mobs. Permadeath could be feasible on a blue server possibly if the exp was accelerated 1000% and no hell levels.

I dunno if you've played on a TLP yet, but there is basically ZERO CSR support, and the amount of training is completely absurd.

They got rid of hell levels in like... 2004 or something. Unless they've re-introduced them since then. Haven't played on Live since '06.
