I didn't see it as "you only get to post in the forums if you have played within X days", I saw it as "your forum identity is tied to your characters' identity, so if you act like an asshole in the forums people won't want to group with you in-game, and that new level of accountability would reduce asshole behavior all around".

I'd say a majority of the posts in outside of off topic are made by people who don't even play EverQuest anymore. That's sad, really, because this forum used to have some great stories (packets, the guy arguing with himself in tells among others) that related to EverQuest.

Now it's just the few people trying to push the boundaries of what they can get away with posting instead of actually playing the game that these forums are about.

It would be nice to have them have to level up to 15 every time they get a forum account banned, as it would also have the side effect of increasing newbie population on P99.

lotta people lack a natural affinity for mischief. took me a while, some time in pvp lands and a healthy amount of introspection to develop the robust appreciation i now have. of course I am blessed with an overly pliable nature, which has no doubt enabled this outgrowth of my otherwise innocent psyche. sadly, naivety regularly stifles real-time appreciation of the shiptoast. i tend to take things seriously and only after some thought do I realize they are too absurd to be genuine. shiptoasting is art.
