Of course it did. When 200+ people rely on his word which determines how they spend their time, when he drops the ball it has consequences. Whether he was helping people or if he just fell asleep on the couch, he has a responsibility. It doesn't matter if you say "it's just a game, get a life, yada yada." If your friend planned an event, and so you made plans and got ready and drove out to the place, waiting for it to open, only to find out, after waiting outside for a long period of time, that not only is it closed, but it was never going to open. You'd be well within your rights to wonder why your friend never bothered to inform you.

Up until this point it wasn't a possibility. It was logical to presume a quake would happen today which is why 1000 people were online for the final few hours of the day. Since the probability of a quake was so high - easy, fast raids then you go to bed, not this life consuming bs you make it out to be.

I was waiting on mobs today too, in that, I was doing stuff around the house, left a couple times to go do some other stuff, made dinner, got stoned and buzzed. I did all the things I would normally do on a slow Sunday night. I'm not going to get all pissy because the second extra set of mob repops didn't show up in the old video game from when I was 13 years old.

I don't see any reason why something like raiding dragons in a fantasy game should be planned and scheduled out like work. Hash it all out in spreadsheets. Chance, surprise, RNG, what do we need those for? Come to think of it, maybe we should all just raid the office paperwork instead.

I personally imagined that one of the GMs or collectively as a team they would have investigated that something might be wrong ahead of time. I thought by the last 24 or 12 or 6 or 3 hours of the last day of the month that some of the GMs who were onsite or available might have reached out for a reconfirmation.

on a serious note, I can say that nilbog actually did try to get a repop to happen, and it was about a 50/50 on it happening. That said, even if I (or anyone else on staff) knew 100% there was no repop coming, I don't think we would have been allowed to relay that information to players.

The good news is that yesterday gave me an idea to make socking repops near impossible (as they should be). Hopefully nilbog will agree with it, fingers crossed ;)

Making a variance to the quakes might help help prevent this. Maybe 1-3 quakes a month instead of the guaranteed 2?

I hear there's going to be 1 quake in the next few days. Then all the GM's will gather and smirk at each other while feeding each other fun size butterfingers and candy corn while laughing at people that are poopsocking away their Halloween waiting for a second quake that doesn't come.

I was about to post something similar, but you beat me. Halloween isn't really a holiday unless you're younger than about 12.

Won't be there chasing P99 quakes either, though, but the folks who do it seem to enjoy it better than staring at walls for hours on end.

I'm really grateful to all the people involved in p99 and the hard work they do to keep this server running but man the quakes were one of the most exciting things that happened on this server. I really hope they make a comeback soon. Just doesn't feel right without them.
