I think you missed the part where he mentioned having been in Paradox. Paradox was in the alliance before ALS, and definitely familiar with it.

I was also an alliance guild member, and my memory mirrors Draco's. I also remember some pretty heavy loot lust coming out of ALS, which is surprising for a guild that claims to not care about loot. A major example being the push to tweak Sky raid loot to be weighted towards per-guild attendance (where ALS was a major part of the raid force), but not wanting to allow it in HoT where they were nominal attendees at best.

He lived in New York, so being from CA I could only ever picture him living in an apartment high up and those birds being Pigeons. I would have given you the entire camp immediately if you had asked, or said hello, or began killing them yourself like a normal person. But all you did was sprint up to me and make a not-very-nice remark and sprint away never to be seen again. Anytime anyone else came to spiders to XP I immediately left and came back later.

This is kinda funny because I actually did them level appropriate (24/25 when I could solo them at last) and I found exactly the same happened but from people in the big A/A guilds and other random guilds on the server.

I wish I had some valid flames to contribute to this glorious thread but every member of ALS I've ever talked to in game has been pretty pleasant.

A lot of very good players I know have characters in ALS. Whenever I've been to public raids the most competent players there are 8 out of 10 times from ALS. I have yet to have an experience with ALS that left me thinking 'that group of people were insufferable cunts', and that's more than I can say for most guilds.
