my gains were as follows:
friday: 11 mile pubcrawl bike ride
saturday: massage, 1 mile swim, 3 miles on bike for transit, independent kendo practice where i ripped a quarter-sized hole on the ball of my left foot
today: kendo training. i will superglue the hole in my foot if i have to

Most of the pics you see of kendo are barefoot. I’m guessing this is traditional / technical as well? You should post some pics. Looks really fun.
Indeed very traditional and barefoot. I'm a beginner so still working up the important callouses to facilitate gliding motion over wood. Was training on a tennis court yesterday and that got me Gewd. I'll post vids when I someday am in a tourney. Don't even have armor yet

As a geriatric kind of guy, I just work out at the senior center three or four times a week. Only lift, press and pull 115lbs. It keeps me looking like a top heavy geezer but I'm OK with that.
OH, I walk fast 20 - 30 minutes on the indoor track too.

Today marks 365 days since I paid a man to slash my large intestine out of my body. Life is great and i'm making GAINS. (this is proof that you don't haev to be a victim mode cuck)
Taking off work today for the most part. will be making LEG GAINS prior to a 3 hour spa treatment

im making gains but i am still in victim mode.
how long did it take you to get ur self back? were u heavily medicated for a long period? despite encouraging life developments, & my hitting of dunks, I am having a difficult time w my detox and continued sizzling pain. i feel guilty for being sick like im a recreational drug user again even tho im not. i present a huge pain in the ass for my credible male who i wish to uplift :(

I feel for you. Our situations are different so in shedding light on my recovery I will highlight some important variations.
1) I had a three stage surgery over a period of 6 months which meant I was largely KO'd mentally and physically for that time.
2) following the first surgery I had a life improvement since I wasn't bleeding and in chronic pain. So even in recovery life was already better in many ways. The second two surgeries were more like yours in that health didn't improve immediately. These were harder to recover from.
3) I took a small amt of pseudonarxotics after leaving hospital. Even then, the comedown was really bad. In hospital I had dilaudid. I took too much tge second time and it fucked me up badly for a week. Third time I was very cautious and only took one shot of dilaudid. I just fucking gripped the pain so I didn't have the physical symptoms of opiates. Basically I didn't suffer the same amt from withdrawals.
4) I stopped using pot altogether which as you know is a big life upgrade. So I had that going for me, which was nice.
My last surgery was in November. By January I was hitting the gym and working 40+ hrs a week. I still was recovering majorly though so this was a foundational rebuild period. In fact, I am still recovering lol but I'm like 80% there.
The most important thing is kicking the narcotics.
Have sympathy for yourself though. You needed to take them to get through the pain. Hold onto your anxiety and feelings of concern that you aren't operating at your goal level, but don't let them rule your emotions. That critical voice means you want to do better and so trust yourself, you WILL do better. But right now your body has to recover before you can regain executive control. I know it's frustrating. You're a smart and energetic person, so given the proper nurture I'm sure you'll get out the other side as a splendid cyborg transgender person :-)

alternatively, a nice long walk of 5-7 miles would do you nicely. i failed to mention that one of the reasons i recovered swiftly in and out of hospital was because i always walked like it was my job

It's time a little more proof, and skin gets shown on this thread... Since my ego is at an appropriate level, i'll go first.. Sometimes it doesn't have to be deadlift's, and squats. Sometimes it doesn't have to be a treadmill, or an elliptical. Like my man Magpie says above. Proper walks are a great way to keep the guilt away, and the spirits high!

I'm glad to hear man. My father retired a few years ago and joined the local fire fighters as a volunteer to do something productive with his time. And even as an unpaid volunteer the amount of hours, hardwork, and certifications he must complete is crazy! Hats off to the awesome men and woman in that line of work!

The trunks are transparent is really my biggest beef. I opt for a nice solid color with at minimum 4 inches above the knee to show off my thighs.
Haha don't you worry Sioux, I ain't mad! Growing up in the 80's/90's I never really shook the whole shorts length of our generation haha. To the knee was a requirement as a boy growing up, and as a teenager, and then as a young adult haha. Then before i knew it, my lovely city of seattle filled up with hipsters who changed the requirement to way above the knee. Denim. Ripped. And uncomfortably tight.... I decided knee length was the safest length :)

btw since i turned off the n bs & started str training (my 5lbs dumbell is a lot for one of my arms...) ive regained like 70% upper extremities function and searing pain frequency has dropped precipitously. i think i would actually explode out one of my new seams if i had2 do a pushup but i can drive, do a dish & blend in with ables again. got so manic on my gains that i blew out my larynx training voice and am on a vow of silence now. -________-
starting erg next week. seeing myself atrophied like this is horrifying (97th percentile body instead of 99 =/). i almost died but somehow maintained ascent during. i musthave a great destiny. abs will be more visible than ever before very soon. God bless

So my weight loss (was/am trying to cut from 250 to 2//ish before I actually try to bulk) has stalled out the last 6 weeks or so (17 weeks into a lifting program, I'm down 15 pounds). But I'm feeling much stronger. Was weak as hell, but all my lifts are up 30% (bench and overhead press are brutal for me) to 50% (I love squats).
Yay!
Now if I could actually keep off of fucking sweets and back off on the booze a bit, I'd be making big strides towards undoing the last 12 years of not exercising but still eating like I'm a college track star.

So I still haven't gotten back into lifting, but my body weight stuff is working nicely.
Might be getting an Air Assault slot which would require lots of rope climbing and a 12 mile ruck in less than 3 hours, so a 15 minute a mile pace, with 35 pounds in the ruck and in jacket/pants/boots. I just did a casual 4 miler in dumb Texas heat index (class would be in January, so much cooler), and was going at about a 16:30 pace without really trying. Gotta lot of work to do

Try and put crunches into a quick HIIT with what you're already doing. Like, every set of whatever you're doing, curls/press/etc., Do a minute of crunches immediately without pausing. Then do your rest if that's what you do. I do that or v-sitting flutter kicks (which I feel like I get a better work out with). It goes by quick, you get great volume of reps, and it's not something you have to dread as a separate set, or motivate yourself to do

I started lifting again
funny I love spending every drop of energy my body makes on walking and biking so I actually hate lifting, but the T Boost you get lets you walk and bike more so its a double edged sword.
I have no one to spot me so when I bench I am doing 2 25lbs on each side 10 8 6 times twice in one day twice a week
then a curl day and a freeweight day , amazing how much gains you get on your shoulders and arms immediately if you are already in shape.
if only I could motivate myself to do more crunches
When I don't have anyone to spot me and I want to put up weight I will use the smith machine. Or I will just stick with dumbbells. Dumbbells are great because you can really build on strength and others muscles needed to stabilize the weight.

Was out of town last week so didn't get to the gym. However, my beginner's Kendo test is coming up in 3 weeks and it's a lot harder than anticipated. So I'm going to be doing a lot more kendo practice. It's pretty hard work. i am GAINING callouses on my hands and feet as I study the blade

i've tripled my daily kendo practice. tomorrow i have to let my hand rest so that i don't rip holes in the skin. medical tape helps during the practice sessions but there's a limit.
masturbation is not going to be good anymore with these callouses.

ye s the only way to get muscular definition is to lose fat. you'll eventually need to develop muscles, so it's best to workout simultaneously so you don't atrophy while getting "Toned". the idea that muscles themselves are toned or not toned is myth.

I had a lot of energy and movement today. Normally when I fast, I'm a total lump. I even got some vertical cleaning done. Worked a lot of squats naturally into my routine. Like. I was like one of those creatures from a movie. Moving around like a slinky. I feel manic from all the endorphins.

I shouldn't have to explain that fasting is not eating.
And that cleaning a vertical space means cleaning multiple levels, so a lot of moving from floor to ceiling.
Sometimes the best exercise isn't a specific "exercise".
If you workout by doing stuff ergonomically rather than with a focus on conservation or efficiency. You can get a really good workout that's much more fun and dynamic for your body.

That's awesome. Are you gonna hit the Olympics? I was hiking south of Astoria about twenty miles. Beautiful country. I've done a lot of wilderness time in my life and I have to admit I find day hikes boring. I'm also not 100% physically ready for long trips away from the glory of civ. Will u and Double DD camping?

skarlorn i spent alot of my youth in a tent. at some point I realized I had inflicted significant psychological trauma already & decided I would never again willingly stay outdoors without a benzodiazepine or d0pe on hand for sleeping. i sleep VERY light and it is just torturous to do it outdoors.
I would consider cycling a downer series to get thru something dank.
my two Dad's and there girlfriends will indeed be pseudo camping a lil bit. I own land w a bare bones structure on it. my first Dad dont know im a tranny yet so there may be a precipitous nuclear event before the camping really happens. wish me luckkk
How can you not sleep outdoors lol? Don't do fukkin drugs, beyond any natural herbs you season your meats with.
Deep in the bayou is where I get my best sleep, communing with the gators.

You can desensitize yourself and decrease your hypervigilance. Being a killbot is overrated.

i am detoxing from my last lil bit of N bs now (non opioid). got the sweats again. sux butt im almost out.
First of all my night vision is excellent. And we didn't hunt at night. We spent time at night taking turns tending cook fires or children or grooming.
Anyway in modern times, people hunt at dusk and dawn. Only a group of our very ancient ancestors specialized to walk animals to death in the sweltering mid day Savannah heat. Don't be one of those Ns. Try nightfishing instead. Lots of nocturnal preadators. We are greater than the sum of our parts, that includes Owl spirit. And gator spirit, which sing to us at night, you missed the entire point of what I was trying to say. Because you aren't listening. They will speak to you if you let them.
Technology when well understand and utilized can enable us to live more naturally without going over board.
Plz stop looking at all this in black and white bipolar binary terms if you can.
God wants us to perfect ourselves (not our selfs). But we can't do one without the other, that understanding is essential.
Get some information gains. But maybe later after your hikes.
You should be well fed(fead?) and saturated with sleepy digestive chemicals before attempting to sleep. If you try to sleep hungry and in keto, you will have a bad time.
Don't do narcotics. They are hobbling your spirit and soul from maturing. You will have to face death without the drugs. I hope you overcome it many times before it takes you.
Anyway, we've been agricultural for a long time now. We really aren't nomadic hunter gatherers. Don't try to stumble around in the dark.

Now I'm good to be a city dweller & listen to opera & shit in a porcelain toilet & sleep in a bed. I also have hypervigilance. BIG gains made this week in kendo
gaained 5 callouses which will be permanent as long as i continue the sport. now my focus is slowing down to improve the biorhythms of strike with footwork with the battlecry. My week hiatus from weight lifting is also over now.

Tramadol is has opioid activity, baboon
I was prescribed tramadol during my recovery. Although very familiar with the medication, it had been the first time I've ever taken it. Not my favorite narcotic due to seizure risk with such low potency. But I used it in combination with the percocets in order to get around the liver toxicity so I could actually manage the pain. They like to prescribe it due to the opioid crisis going on due to lower risk of dependency.
Glad everyone is doing well. Keep up the good work fellas. I'm back at work and hitting the gym a good 4 days a week, 1.5-2+ hours a day, trying to get my mass back.

Good Swish2! Why Beats? They're shitty for the price. Consider Bose for superior quality. I use Noise Canceling but they may be more than you want to spend (about $300).

It's a good question. I'm trying to figure out how they work into my exercise. I recently spent 4 hrs in a sauna alternating hot and then cold showers and left feeling very good. I have the feeling that sauna helps flush the lymphatic system but haven't researched it. I enjoy silent exercise and ending my workout by sitting in a dry sauna and meditating as long as possible is a good finisher for mental discipline. Alternating the intense heat straight into cold water also bolsters your cold resistance and puts hairs on your chest.
I'll try and look into the benefits more but it just feels good to me and is a nice capstone mentally.

Sauna is really good for detox. A good workout burns a lot of energy and that leaves a lot of waste. Sauna IMO is great for helping to offload stress from liver and kidneys and keep a good cleansing sweat going.

The best way to walk is on the ball of foot. My boots are build for heel-to-toe so I go with that. When walking around the city i walk on the balls of my feet as much as possible and as much as my footwear permits.

Decline barbell bench x 4 sets 6-8 reps
Throw in some calves to give my chest a little break
Flies on flat bench or machine x4 sets of 8-10 reps
Incline press on smith machine x4 sets 6-8 reps
Another calf exercise, sometimes I do some abs
Will finish myself off with as many pushups I can do x3 sets until my face hits the ground
Every couple of weeks I will change up the routine. I will start my day off with incline dumbbells or something like that.

I do legs 2 times a week, plus an hour spinning here and there, and 100 calf raises every day. The Calf raises are 2 up 2 hold 2 down. Takes about 10 minutes to do. But that shit will make you grow.

The routine is producing great results. Looks like he's got some great sculpting exercises, compound lifts, and some really high intensity stuff at the end to round it all out.
The only thing I'd say is make sure to hit the back -- but I'm sure you know what you're doing better than me seeing how far you are along.

I only did cable flies like once in the past couple of months. I'm not opposed to them. I just don't usually incorporate them into my routine that often. Maybe I will start. They have great versatility and core strengthening potential.

I had a really good arm day yesterday. Triceps are stronk as fuck. Was doing 3.2x my body weight on the seated machine dips yesterday.

I put in two blinds today. Holding the heavy drill up and cutting the heavy material to adjust them took a lot of effort and upper body.
I predrilled and screwed the holes so when I used screwdriver on the actual brackets it was doable. But I still needed to take a lot of breaks to recover my biceps on each screw. (My drill doesn't have an extender that fits the brackets.)
You know it's bad when holding a screwdriver gently just above eye height is a massive effort.

Apparently if you eat something bready or with potatoes before you ingest anything spicy then it can absorb some of the spice going through your body somewhat.
So chomping some pitta bread before going in for the curry etc. That's less of building a tolerance though as much as just not having to deal with the ring of fire turned up to 11.

The spice doesn't upset me. I always overspice my food cooking.
I think people just eat low quality heavily processed crap and blame the spiciness. If you use wholesome ingredients and go from scratch you won't get sick.
The oil my Chinese and one of my Mexican place uses is horrific.

I just moved a 300lb safe myself. Had a bit too much momentum, kinda squished the wall. :(
I finished up with a very large bowl of homemade spicy hot chilli with home grown peppers. No urge to poopslpatter. Tbqh this was the last 2 servings n the flavor had really mellowed.

Nice man. Something different I've been doing is maxing out, then going in reverse for as many reps as I can do until my muscles are completely drained. On my last back/shoulder day I did pullups until muscle failure between most of the sets of my regular routine. I felt that one the next day.

i did that one for a while and it worked super well for me, butt i couldn't do it more than once a week. basI ally lifting heavy things more often than that fries my cns and i start losing ground and get super weak and tired and it take liek 6 months to recover.

I think it really depends on your frame. I'm lucky enough to be a large framed mammal :(, so I think I'm gonna go ahead and not work on upper body at all - will just focus on lower body muscle building after I diet off all the male fat deposits. Endurance running / hiking is how I wanna kill time instead of gaming anyway.
You're really skinny now so any fat gain would go to female areas at this point and some muscle would probably look good on you. Provided your HRT is stable, it's pretty hard to bulk up I hear. You'll see most of your breast dev done after 2 years, so just be patient with that.

That program is going to allow you to hit higher numbers quick. I don’t feel it’s sustainable. I’m more of a fan of building a better foundation for heavy weight. It’s going to take more time, but you will hit higher numbers later on. I’m posting from my phone. When I get back from the gym I’ll link some stuff.
