Story Time! I need a name for this new strategy!

Lets just say, hypothetically speaking, my name starts with "Sedative" and my friend's monk name starts with "Collect". We both go to Sol B, call no CC (cause we give 0 ****s about the community), and leap frog a group to Efreeti, knowing the group is behind me, I hypothetically run to the back of Efreeti, and train back out, get the other group (and a second unrelated group) killed and myself in the meantime, then I zone back in really quick (b/c this is not planned or anything, so I'm probably bound right outside), and make my way to camp, free of competition.

Hypothetically... this is a hypothetical scenario, lets just assume for a minute that this actually happened. Is this against the rules?

I mean, this seems fun (if i gave 0 ****s about the community that is...) I'll see someone going for a camp before me, so I'll sprint to it, grab mobs, train out, get people killed, and come back in really quick, competition free.

What shall we call this strategy?

CC'ing is just a courtesy, and on the way to a camp isn't the same as having a camp.

Leapfrogging people isn't against the rules, though it's a dick move. Training people maliciously is, and is something people can get suspended for.

Yes yes, because I post this kind of stuff all the time, I mean, its fun losing a camp to a bunch of shenanigan, yeah!... at the end of the day its not worth the hassle, or the pixels, but it must at least be known.

Yeah leapfrogging to efreeti is classic as fuck. However, if they would need to actually drop efreeti PH to claim the camp. If the monk just ran into efreeti room and dragged mobs out to train you because they couldn't beat you to the camp then that's illegal intentional training.

efreeti camp on agnar in vanilla was actually pretty bad...much worse than on p99 actually.

imagine p99 neckbeards, but fueled by chronos and actually money (that isn't against any rules). People easily made $5-6k in vanilla if they setup right for chrono farming.

While I feel like the staff could probably do a better job at presenting the rules, they're not hard to find and you don't need to be a neckbeard to understand them. In fact, the rule about kill stealing is the very first one:

Kill Stealing is defined as the killing of an NPC for any reason that is already fighting or pursuing another player or group that is prepared to engage that same NPC without that group's specific permission.

Since there's nothing there about "or player/group that has shouted 'I've got that mob'", taking a mob from someone who has shouted isn't against the rules.

At the same time, the rules against training other players are also clear and easy to understand:

8. You may not disrupt the normal playability of a zone or area.

Zone/Area Disruption is defined as any activity designed to harm or inconvenience a number of groups rather than a specific player or group of players. This includes, but is not limited to::

...

- Causing intentional experience loss to other players (deliberately impeding fleeing players by blocking their escape route, intentionally training NPCs on other players, etc.).

I wouldn't dare leapfrog an able group to their camp, at the very very least I would CC and talk to them, maybe I'm one of the few that cares about the entire community.

Obviously a few of you also care, since you're educating me, but certainly some don't (they rather trying to find a catchy response to make themselves feel better about their pixels), and its obvious now that it's a trend with them. The least I can do is bring it up so people are aware of the shady tactics.

He was then waiting around the corner near the lava watching he work. You can see me run past him as i round the corner. I got out safe... I give the train a C-.

What happens when someone runs past with body agro on a NPC. You get hit when mobs pass by right? This crazy big train of spiders, kobolds and giants, which in reality was 2 kobolds, 2 giants, 0 spiders. Where you assume FD ring was me sitting bc when I turned around the mobs werent on me, obv.. so after sitting and looking through wall, I ran back up melee'd both giants who were on your pet. Brought them to camp and SLAYED THEM ALL. ya know this crazy big train I placed so gracefully at your feet. Grow up, people like you make this place toxic. I even spoke to you in tells, hey sorry, mobs back on me. You wouldn't have it, it was purposeful train...maybe you're more suit for World of Warcraft?

No matter how you paint the picture it will always be ridiculed as you are whining and the other guy is winning unless the act they did was so outrageously egregious it was clear they were breaking rules and purposefully so.
