The real reason people on this server like to hate on the bogeymen 'A/A' is because they need someone to blame for their own inadequacies.To buy into the notion of A/A being the server 'bad guys' is just easier for most people than to accept the fact that the only thing stopping them is themselves. Its refreshing to see CSG managing to team up and down content without crying about how the servers rigged and how A/A stop them from competing, like A/A have any sort of power over the server other than being the competent groups.

Outside of the raid scene there are loads of people from both the guilds that are genuinely lovely people that ive enjoyed leveling and playing with. They play better and are usually more careful about how their actions effect other people because contrary to popular belief the guilds have a strict code of conduct and people are disciplined for shit that reflect poorly on the guilds. People from A/A have to be more careful because any misstep results in suspensions. In-game I'm more worried about random alts from lesser guilds training and shitting up my xp groupage because there are next to no repercussions for their actions.

Wrong, theres always a top dawg and atleast 1 rival. Been like this since launch will be like this forever. Top is where the focus is and people loose sight of everythimg else. Out of touch.

It all depends on how the top dogs want to treat end game. Want to keep getting bans, great! Everyone wull enjoy being nice to each other and all get mobs and enjoy the holiday.

I definitely agree Phenyo, A/A members are not likely to ninja loot or do some other equally sh!tty thing to you because they are time invested in the server (you cant get into either guild w/o being time invested in the server. IE level 58+, proper gear, ect)

The only thing I would disagree about is 'A/A doesn't stop other guilds from competing'. With the level of experience and coordination A/A has it really isn't fair to new players or guilds. That's why the R/C rotation was developed in Kunark, the staff realized there were 2 very separate and distinct levels of play on the server. This has not changed.

If your only solution to the inequity in nToV experience is 'git gud' then that's your opinion and it will likely never change. I think the staff keeps thinking that eventually A/A will burn out and dragons will not be kill IMMEDIATELY on spawn, but I think that's a pipe dream. Current raid scene is pretty shitty for anyone outside A/A I am sure.

Less rules would be better IMO. The only rules should be no training and no interfering with other guild's pulls. Instead we have a million rules, where we can/can't camp, tracker FTE, tracker limits, targets that are/aren't considered raid targets. The raid target list isn't congruent with yellow text. Stalling is another one which is very subjective and was never well defined. In a game as clunky as EQ it just doesn't work.

If there were only server quakes (~4 a month) and no repop windows/variance it would mitigate a lot of the issues. As well rooted raid targets. The whole concept of pulling every boss to a zone in trivializes most of Velious content and just makes for more issues. The extra effort of clearing can be offset with more 'classic' drop amounts (~4 off most TOV targets and Tunare from what I understand).

Guilds would have to pick and choose their targets. But that may be all too far from 'classic' for the devs to do. Unfortunately even on live these sorts of issues were never really sorted out. It's why instances became a thing and the open world model diminished

That is EQ. Plenty of other MMO or co-op type games that support different play. I think the player base comes back to this one because it taps into something primal in the human condition.

They have to become strong enough to knock them off the block or at least stand eye to eye with them. Otherwise, no. Venerate tried to break into the A/A circle when I joined them, I remember Kiix trying to negotiate for rotations. Those didn't happen. You have to have the numbers and the skill and just go take them. You are a force or someone that has to be managed.

As many frustrations as that can cause I am thankful the game still exists, I have little if any respect for modern MMO games but I have mind myself or else I come off like a P99 Red vs. Blue player.

I personally found 55+ becomes a chore and no longer fun. When a game becomes unenjoyable, I either quit the game or find other things to do on the game.

I only needed to try raiding in 2 different guilds to understand it wasn't my cup of tea. I realize that's a difficult concept to grasp for a nerd like you. I just prefer having autonomy and value my freedom over being a pixel slave in a raid guild.

If attitudes were different, and the raid scene was better maybe I'd enjoy it more but I suppose those pixels-above-all-else attitudes are necessary to raid on p99 and I don't have that mentality.

What seperates A/A is the sheer amount of effort they go to to prevent more casual guilds to get the lower raid mobs needed to get the upper raid mobs. If they didnt perma camp forces to kill golems, naggy, vox, sev, and others, casual guilds would actually get bladestoppers, prayers, and the other items needed to do the pulls the way the top guilds have forced the server raid rules to work for them. If training mobs to allow a boss pull to a zone line is the only way we are going to get to compete, that competition wont happen for a long time, due to A/A.
