View Full Version : Mauzer Chairman & Chairman Mauzer

YOU KNOW I LOVE ME SOME RNF!

Camping AC; Chairman has control. Gets his piece, logs on to his alt to collect the ring, and logs back onto Chairman, failing to pass control to Mixxup, whose been waiting for hours. Just wanted everyone to know what a piece of shit he is. There's a reason nobody likes to go to OoT to try to camp it for themselves, because of pricks monopolizing the spawn, illegally at that.

TLDR: People that illegally monopolize AC are trash, Mauzer/Chairman is trash.

Have a good night <3

legal to loot the ring if nobody around?I would say if he was just switching chars it would be dirty pool to take the ring.

If you didn't kill the mob you have 0 loot rights. Even if he swaps toons and you loot he can successfully petition you for taking his loot. So I wouldn't waste a ban on a pair of jboots.

However you can take the camp the moment he camps and claim it. If he comes back and disputes you'd be in the right technically.

is this a rule somewhere that I forgot about? AFAIK, if a corpse goes public, its free for all on the loot.

Not sure. Obviously something like this, it was obvious that the person killed it and wanted the drop on their alt.

However, I remember seeing a discussion on this on the forums and it basically being claimed that it doesn't matter if it is a high level running through the zone killing everything in their path, even if they aren't bothering to loot stuff if you loot their corpses it's a big no no. Like someone literally said that there could be three seconds left on the corpse timer and they are nowhere nearby but if you take something off the corpse and they see you do it and petition... bye bye.

I've known multiple people to receive harsh bans for looting items that were literally going to rot on the corpses of the monsters that dropped them.

See Llandris post here. Always best to ask, almost no one is gonna petition you for trivial things but it's possible.

my understanding is loot rights don't persist through logout.

i just wish there was more gm intervention to enforce more rules. i dont think the market will sustain the server long with the current minimal level of rules and interventions

wow. can't say I agree with that. not one bit. I would rule lawyer that till the end. Timer going public = public loot. If you leave something on a corpse long enough to go public and someone else loots it, your bad.

need rule book citations llandris!

Not a lawyerquester, so I'm not sure what the official server ruling is, but certain entities/guilds absolutely do not agree with this. A friend of mine was kicked from Forsaken back in the day for looting a piece that the guild intended to let rot, which is a complete joke, IMO.

The issue wasn’t that he logged on an alt to collect the ring, the issue was that he logged back on his other character and wouldn’t surrender control to other people who had been waiting for hours; he was essentially trying to get two rings in a row. Thankfully you can’t outdps a wizard, so he got mad and left. A GM came on later to remind all parties that you forfeit a camp if you log off. Thanks Menden!

Even if someone tells you to loot the corpse you’ll get suspended after the fact. #RIPAnthrax

I can't say Anthraxx agreed with being suspended for it either. You're both wrong in this case. You kill = your loot. Anyone who takes it without your permission is ninja looting.

Sirken also ruled that once you get the item you're camping, you give the camp up if there are people waiting for it. This is due to Clark blocking the King Tranix camp (yes camp) for weeks at a time.

Clearly my understanding of the camp rules were mistaken as the GM cleared up. My understanding, in the better part of the nearly 20 years I'd played EQ, was that as long as the spawn was kept down switching characters wasn't an issue. And I had played that way during that time with no complaints, until last night. But ignorance isn't an excuse.

You were right and I was wrong. I offer my apologies to you and Mixxup for being a dick about it.

Anyways, I hope you got your ring. (Seriously.)

Clearly my understanding of the camp rules are that I can have the camp for as long as I want, to get rings on as many alts as I want. My understanding, in the better part of the nearly 20 years I'd played EQ, was that as long as the spawn was kept down switching characters wasn't an issue. I am going to keep playing that way because I know for a fact that there are far more greedy players here than me. Your ignorance of how my camp rules work is not an excuse for an RnF thread.

I am right and you are wrong. I hope you can bring yourself to apologize to me.

I hope you never get a ring. (Seriously.)

Give the people what they want ^
