So... I'm in Rivervale today while I work from home. Of course on my work from home days, I'll have EQ open on one monitor and code out of the other two. So I take a break from time to time and kill the deputies to earn some platinum. Well today I learned how some folks on this server feel like they're entitled to camps. I come off afk and start killing deputies and about 2 deputies in, I start seeing Darkfae, member of Dawn Believers (/anon doesn't protect you from /guildstatus), start throwing a temper tantrum in /ooc over me killing deputies for plat versus xp. When I responded to him at the end of my kill cycle he decides to go the child route and sling insults and profanity. At which point, I told him if he wants to sling insults he should take it to tells because I don't mind it. I'm just sure that someone else might like another player, his guild leader, or a GM/Guide. It's not like I farm these deputies all the time, but more so when I want a little extra bit of plat while I work from home. If Darkfae would've sniped the camp while I was afk, then good on him. But he didn't, and he threw a temper tantrum over it. Furthermore, if I don't get a chance at the camp while I work from home, then its no big deal. Period.
Moral of the story: This is an 18 (almost 19) year old elf sim. It's not the end of the world. Don't feel like your entitled to a camp for xp over someone killing for platinum. We all have our MOs for as to why we camp things. I'm sure there are plenty of people that camp Spore King in Seb for the Fungi, rather than the xp. The same can be applied to other camps throughout Norrath.

People in here be mistaking dickishness for entitlement. You can be a dick and kill low level mobs for a little pp, but not really be / feel entitled to it. Whereas someone demanding mobs just because they can xp off it is feeling quite the entitlement.
Its like if someone rich was bored and decided to start using their lambo to attract lyft / uber people to talk to since hes bored and some shmuck in a camry starts a tirade about how the 1% is stealing their money.

The only issue I have with that stance would be high level players farming CB belts or gnoll teeth with AoE mass genocide when new players or even established players going for a non twinked 'authentic' experience have the majority of the zone killed in front of them. Seriously, fuck those guys. I guess the situation of a level 24 getting no exp while farming Sisters in lesser fay would depict a pure dogshit example of a person too.
Apart from that, I have no dog in this fight. Bored people using the auction website scroll have been known to kill DE guards in Nektulos for spare bronze sword plat that were far above their level, etc. No one gives two shits. The player described as being sad that you were killing halfling guards could go kill guards in Misty Thicket or go kill guards in West Karana at the towers, or grow some balls and kill solo in a dungeon for the exp bonus and move on.
I simple friendly tell goes a long way. More times than not you can get high level players to leave you a low level farm spot if you want to exp there by being nice. If someone goes to ooc right away and throws a hissy fit I will tell them to fuck their father in the shower and grab a snack.

You present a calm and pleasant demeanor. I imagine you'd consider working something out with the guy to share spawns or perhaps you'd even give them up if he was nice and asked.
That being said, this is almost as bad as the half AFK 50+ levels who sit in EC on the Orc camps to farm Deathfist Slashed Belts while lvl 6-10s in cloth armor have nothing but crappy spiders, Pumas, and lions to kill for XP. Can you really not find less accessible cash camps to farm for plats? :(
The halflings are not only decent cash for newer players, they are awesome XP. The fact Filbus is hurt every time a halfling is killed only gives a newer player that added bonus.
I just find it douchey killing vastly underconned mobs in a noob zone for plats, and I never do it personally even if it is allowed "by the rules." Anytime someone uses "it's allowed under the rules" as a defense typically knows what they are doing is douchey. :p

This is implying that someone shouldn't farm a camp even when nobody is there because you feel it's "douchey." This sounds completely crazy to me. What it boils down to is people need to communicate better with each other. If you can't act right then don't expect to get a camp you feel you're entitled to.

Common sense should prevail. For instance I have no issue with a high level camping Orc belts when no lowbies are interested in hunting at the Orc camps.
That being said, I personally have had contentious convos when approaching high levels farming the belts when I was on my lowbies and can see why Darkfae reacted aggressively.
I wouldn't be surprised if he tried the "nice" approach in the past and was told "it's in the rules I'm allowed to farm here get lost nub." Not justifying or condoning his supposed behavior, I am just saying I can empathize with his frustration.
I personally don't hold low level camps hostage for plats with my high levels particularly in high population zones or zones that are easily accessed and played in by lowbies. That's just me.

Eh. It would be worth an argument if the person in question had approached OP in a different manner. OP wins by default.
Rivervale, Misty, and others have been splattered about for ages as "great" places for XP and plat. It is hardly expected for those zones to be empty these days.
If dude in question asked if he could take some guards for XP, and OP was all, "rules say I can have em all get fucked.", then this would be a different thread.

I could sympathize as well, however, I'm not one to bend the knee to some dude being a dick when I haven't provoked or slighted him in any manner. I honestly had no idea he was in zone and planning to snipe camp (if thats even the correct term to use for this situation) from me while I was afk until I hopped up from Feign Death and was well into slaughtering Filbus' kinfolk. However I'm not going to concede to his argument that he is there solely for the xp. Anyone who camps Deputies while they're gaining xp is doing it to get that added bonus of the coin. It may not be the fastest coin, but its consistent.

Most of the time people are given the benefit of doubt, I don't assume anyone is lying when they give an anecdotal story unless it sounds unbelievable and/or the person has a history of fabricating truths.
Logs add some concrete evidence for us to judge accordingly but a persons word can provide plenty of material to hand down a good proper judgement!
OP, logs are just added fun bags, your word is good until it's found you have lied. Carry on sir, name-and-shame as noted above always gives you bonus points! You did well. :D

UPDATE: So last night after Aftermath, Awakened, CSG, BGA (Blood Guard/Anonymous), and Paradigm Shift killed Norrath after the earthquake, I decided to run and bank in Rivervale on my druid. As I entered the main central area of Rivervale, I noticed the deputies were laying lifeless on the ground with no one in sight. So I checked to see who it was, so I could toss out some buffs. Upon checking zone, I saw the name (dun, dun...DUN!) Darkfae of Dawn Believers. Also noticed he was level 45 (unlike before when he was on /anon).
I figured I'd be the bigger person and throw him some buffs since I was on my druid since he wouldn't know me from our first encounter on my monk. As I started to cast out Chloroplast, I saw him get hit with a buff while he was sitting and medding. And then it happened again. Without another single person in sight, I was wondering where these buffs were coming from. So I went back to check the /who result and found Cherangel of Dawn Believers in zone. Still didn't answer my question as to where this other char was at. I checked my druid track (which druid track is awful for tracking other players), and it was telling me that Cherangel was straight ahead. So I went straight ahead, then track ability was saying that Cherangel was behind me. As I stood there befuddled, it hit me, Cherangel was above on the mountain ridges.
So I took to the skies of Rivervale with my levitation spell (Thankfully I had just refreshed by supply of bat wings.). So I managed to get myself to the highest peak of Rivervale, and I found Cherangel. I flew up on her with superior camouflage on and noticed that this Wood-Elf Druid wasn't moving...except for standing up to cast buff spells on Darkfae and his pet companion. It became apparent to me that Darkfae was breaking one of the cardinal rules of Project 1999...Boxing. So I sat there and submitted a petition in game. After watching for about 30 minutes, both characters, Darkfae and Cherangel, logged out of game before a GM/Guide could show up to verify my suspicion. Thought I had him dead to rights, but either a GM or Guide wasn't online, or they had bigger fish to fry. Who knows?

Pretty sure the rules mention something about profanity...wait...here it is: Server Rules (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1057)
Limit your use of profanity, especially in public channels. Remember there is a difference between cursing and cursing at someone. You will receive warning, and if you still refuse to cooperate, you will be banned.

I once masturbated on an aeroplane. I was about 16 at the time and sitting, iirc, in the aisle seat next to a middle aged japanese couple.
I draped the nice airline blankie over myself and caught it between my knees and the seat in front of me so that it hung at a 45 degree angle and by pulling my pelvis back into the seat i was able to maintain a full erection without it poking into the blanket (too much).
I cranked it out just as the airplane was taking off. It was a symbolic act for me. I came just as we reached altitude, cleaned up with the airplane blanket, flung it on the ground, then went to sleep.
the boy is doing fine.
