In solution mining, fresh water is injected through a pipe into deep shafts that end in the salt beds, and salty water (brine) is drawn upward and dried, to recrystallize the salt. Or, salty brine found in shallow wells can simply be pumped to the surface and dried there, to make salt.

You can re-read what I wrote in my disclaimer, I don't care about suspension lengths (I barely ever raid). I'm merely stating that the rule exists and is not enforced. Reading more then 1 paragraph is difficult though, I too struggle sometimes.

I can see this being an interpretation of what is stated, but when the paragraph mixes guild & individual suspensions together, and then the final sentence says "these rules", my interpretation is that it applies to all suspensions spoken about in the paragraph.

The 10-day suspension was something that resulted from the raid summit. I'm glad it happened. It has pseudo forced guilds to deal with each other. The previous 2-Feshlak suspensions were a joke.

From what I can tell they suspend guilds and players fairly across the board.

I don't always agree with why players or guilds get suspended, but I see no favoritism regarding guild suspensions.

I can't speak on any conspiracy theories, but I'd be surprised if something like a fungi tunic went for less than 100 USD. If you extrapolate that (40k = 100 USD) out to other items, it means you could sell green scales / white scales (300kpp) for 750 USD. I'm sure there are other raid items that go for 400k+ (1000 USD by my guess). A thousand bucks isn't exactly "small peanuts".

Usually greed gets the best of people, and it leaks out very quickly if nefarious activity such as RMT exists, because a salesperson typically will branch out over time and people talk.

I only had one person actually send a tell offering RMT when I was selling stuff in EC. I immediately sent a petition in, because I didn't want any link to this guy and I got a tell back from staff fairly fast that they were investigating it.

Admittedly, I am not in a big raid guild, I do not partake in that scene at all. I am naive to it a bit. Still, never see any smoke.

A century-long deception should ideally include fewer than 125 collaborators. Even a straightforward cover-up of a single event, requiring no more complex machinations than everyone keeping their mouth shut, is likely to be blown if more than 650 people are accomplices.

Those numbers might seem high, but he's talking about major conspiracies not RMT in an elf sim. Also he over-estimated:

the number of conspirators and the time before the conspiracy was revealed were over-estimated to ensure that the odds of a leak happening were a 'best case scenario' for the conspirators - around a four in one million chance of deliberate or accidental exposure.


And that doesn't account for the information imbalance either: the staff has access to way more information about what's occurring on their server. It also doesn't account for the fact the conspiracy has to grow: RMTers can't keep making money off the same people forever. When you factor all those things in it looks increasingly unlikely that any RMT "conspiracy" could last very long.

However IF Rogean himself was involved in such a conspiracy it does not seem inconceivable that he could keep it secret ... but you'd have to wear a tinfoil hat to believe he'd put all that effort in to building P99 only to jeopardize it all with something stupid like that.
