Anyone else think doing Need before Greed on tradeable drops over 10k is absolutely moronic?

In a PUG it almost never happens. A group of friends that always group together I am sure would do NBG.

I just find it ridiculous little timmy is given sole rights on a drop because it has 20 more mana

Unless loot rules are established in advance and told to every member upon joining, the default mode should be everyone can roll for valuable loot.

loot rules should be established before hand, and if its a group people can fee free to pass but if you want it and some one needs it just roll for it. That's how every group I've been in has been.

This^

One of first and only times it ever happened differently to me, was in a LCY group. Tstaff dropped, 4 members basically voted NBG right there and gave it to the monk.

I've made sure to be very clear on loot rules before accepting group invites since then.

The one time I ever saw a T-staff drop I was on a monk and happened to be the group leader. The loot rules changed to NBG for a limited time and the rest of the group was no t particularly happy with me. Basically always make sure you are group lead and you wont have an issue with any variety of rules.

Being 7 minute timer i loot most drops outta habit then roll. Seen 1 too many things rot cuz idiots wanna have a debate or make a speech, or flat out forget about it. To me, if its tradeable and the group isnt specifically there to get that item for someone, it should be rolled on.

Need before Greed = My Greed before Your Greed.

I guess it depends on which end you're on~~

It's been well established that nbg is actually the greedy system in pugs. It's hard for nerds to grasp that.

Sounds like the group cucked you out of a roll. If you're with 5 strangers it should always be greed on anything over 500plat. If something can vendor for 400plat (like kunark class pieces) then that should also be rolled on. Gems go alpha, fire opals dont count and go to clerics for peridots. End of story.

I just dont understand how 10,000 in gear is worth more to one indefinitely than it is to the 6+ responsible for it in the first place.

last 2 posters read the thread lmao

idk about u but i come here not to read threads, but to look at the overall shape (square, circle) that the text in a post makes. then i make a response based entirely off my emotional response to the artwork
