FYI you only pay the first month of sub. After that you can buy kronos for like 10k (which takes a few hours to get) and never pay another dime to play.

As much as I love Phinny and such. People need to be aware Kronos are just like any other item. Their price fluctuates. At the beginning of Luclin they were running 5k each. So it's quite possible the price to play (platinum wise) may jump up in the next expansion.

That being said, if you've got a crew of friends you can farm quite a few raid instances for pixels quite easily. We did War/Pal/Cler/Dru/Bard/Necro and took out 5-6 raid targets the other night with everyone walking away with items roughly equivalent to a Krono. Doing this two or so times a month makes the subscription a non-issue for now. I look forward to this crew doing big things in PoP in the Velious and Luclin instances.

I agree with you partially on this. PoP would be/ will be fun, but yeah, getting 80 AAs in one neckbeard session is just dumb. No one can argue with that. I remember back in the day asking people how many AAs they had, and I also remember being amazed by people who had a few hundred. On Phinny, a few hundred seems like a slow week.

Getting 80 in one weekend is how AE methods work.

On the Al'Kabor server I got a wizard around 150 AAs in probably only 15 hours of play time. This wasn't using any exploits like pit warring or even Shakerpaging. Just good old PBAE nukes on large trains in PoFire.

It's even easier at level 60 in the Deep right now because stuns work. Though one big difference on Phinigel is the access to Destructive Fury AAs that changes the damage on critical nukes from 200% to 300% increase. It sort of balances out casters against melee after all the melee changes that have occurred over the years on live but it certainly makes AE groups on Phinny much easier.

I mean whats the end goal of p99? We are playing a 17 year old game here. It was never meant to be a game that people play forever. You play until you have had enough nostalgia and then you move on. For me. Playing in PoP is the ultimate in nostalgia and want to do it again. After that I may quit or I may stay for 2.0's but that's not the point. I am playing phinny and p99 to feel a connection to a game that I loved in my youth. Once I stop feeling that tingly feeling of fun when I log in. That's when I stop.

P99 is starting to get to the point where that tingly feeling is getting less and less. But phinny. I cant wait to log on each day and do the things that made me love this game all those years ago.

Quit before RoF because the race turned into "who can neckbeard, take days off work and raid at 8AM on expansion release" rather than "what guild can devise a strategy to beat the content quickest" like it was in Underfoot/HoT/VoA.

Also why I didn't choose to app to some of the Phinigel guilds which will undoubtably be raiding at 6AM on a Wednesday to claim server first on an expansion release. Stupid race is stupid. But atleast the way they choose to race doesn't impede my ability to enjoy the game the way I wish to enjoy it.

Crystallos was actually one of my favorite zones ever. I had a lot of fun there with the groupable content. I didn't stick around too long after I got a full set of gear from there though.

I think they do spawn in instances? But that will only yield you 9 keys I think for the entire week. I also don't think they spawn on instance creation. Might be wrong though on entire subject.

Taking the amount of time that it used to, to do it now, would put me off. Being able to catch up and maybe experience PoP while it's relevant, even if I start in a week or so, sounds perfect to me.

Cool if that's what you got/wanted from it, I liked just grabbing a group and going, or raiding when convenient. Instances instead of competition (don't care what pixels other people have or how many walls they had to stare at for them, not impressed) worked better for me, and I couldn't care less about PvP.

Don't mind Swish he's just braindead. I wish I could ignore the quotes when people quote his posts. I can't speak for all live servers cause I know a lot of them were very different. But I can tell you I never ever ever saw people pulling entire zones to 1 spot with chanters doing AE stun rotations and AoEing everything on live EQ. People are just plain better and know WAY more about the game now than they did back then. There weren't any obstacles in the way of people doing chardok or the deep AE groups on live. The idea simply just didn't cross peoples minds or if it did they just couldn't execute it properly. Also it seems to me that people were much less interested in min/maxing back in those days. Maybe a few people figured it out and were doing it in classic but it absolutely wasn't common knowledge like it is today.

Fennin Ro must have been ahead of the curve in that regard. I'd regularly get invited to AE xp groups on my enchanter during luclin and pop era. Outside KC on the flat area, scarlet desert and fungus Grove were all really popular spots.

He's a moron. Half of red's population has been banned for RMT. All you have to do is go through the search function on the forums. It's also a well known thing that the GMs on this server have made it their life's mission to ban any RMT. Which is great. But for some reason Swish has made it his newest talking point to get people to believe RMT doesn't exist here in order to strengthen his don't play on Phinny argument. At this point in terms of accusations I'm half the staff, dozens of people who post on the forums, I raid hardcore, I don't raid at all, I don't even have a level 60... the list goes on.

Can you imagine having to post proof up all the time to prove all of that? I don't even know where to begin... but if you're going to call out mass scale RMT I think that's wrong and hurts the server if it isn't backed up.

Then, they intend to do GoD and OOW 3 months after
OOW will trivialize GoD a bit with the increase to level 70.
Daybreak says that GoD is too difficult @ level 65, community says BS.

Why not do PoP, Ykesha, and LDoN all together OR do LDoN with GoD?

You're a special kind of fucking stupid if you think RMT doesn't happen on P99 every single fucking day. Braknar catches a lot of them but it doesn't stop people and I know more than a couple people that did it and never got caught to this day. Use of questionable 3rd party programs by several people I knew never resulted in any action. Let's not even get started on boxing. If you think nobody is boxing on P99 you're out of your mind.

All of these things that are against the rules on P99 need to be manually enforced and aren't always easy to detect. Human beings aren't perfect and I assure you a lot of people slip through the cracks. Stop kidding yourself.
