I've been so glad to have help from other P99 players, often times it isn't even asked for. A random buff here or there. Maybe even an item here or there. It's also nice to know that I can ask for help in the form of a buff/sow, directions, etc and more often than not get a response. I also understand no one is obliged to help anyone else, it is what it is.

What is really irritating is when you ask for help, say for a bind in a zone on Kunark when you came all the way from the Freeport area, only to get the one person in the zone that can help you to say, "sure, otw". Then when they come to you, they demand you either win your bind through a dice game or by dueling them. (Please, not about to be root/nuked by a 17 wizard when I'm level 9, and I don't want to waste my time randoming until you feel I should be rewarded with a bind). You don't want to just help someone who is asking? Fine. Don't be a douchebag, and then when the person refuses to jump through your hoops, go in /ooc warning people not to try and bind me or else I will try to duel them and kill them.

I openly asked for a favor, and expected one of two things. Either no one would have been willing/able to help me out (that's fine, I'll wait), or a normal, well-adjusted person might offer to help and throw a bind on me real quick. I didn't expect option 3: asshatery in the form of a gnome.

If I was Jeppenstrubber, I would feel like this jakey boy literally made this roleplay experience THAT much more juicier by legitimately being truly rustled by this gnomes evil antics.

Jeppen, you may have not gotten much of a response in-game, but I think this thread more than makes up for the lack of rapport in the moment.

Bravo, Jeppen, you've inspired me to make a roleplay character and I hope many of these recent adventurers(Sneaksy) inspire others to roleplay and truly try to capture EverQuest's ability to grant you an online experience unlike any other game!
