I don't consider transgenderism any sort of deficiency. In and of itself it does not signify any sort of substantive shortcoming other than one's capacity to fulfil traditional gender roles, which are increasingly meaningless in modern society. Some people lack health, some lack intelligence, some lack ambition, some lack work ethic, some lack self restraint. Some lack all of those. My point is that subsidizing failure is not compassionate because it propagates misery. It is a disservice to the recipient along with humanity because of the opportunity cost of resources inefficiently expended to sustain their misery for the sake of dodging responsibility.

I happen to be fairly fortunate to fit in and prefer the typical binary here. Though that doesn't make me a cisgender female.

I'm still genetically and was assigned male at birth, and initially socialized as a male, which earns me that oh so infamous trans label.

I also legally am female. The merits of a binary gender system for identification is a popular topic for wee millenials. I'm not really advocating to change it. My personal preference would be to remove all instances of gender from societies legal framework, basically gender / sex should not net anyone special consideration, protection, or hinderence / sanction.

The number one challenge to toppling the patriarchy is that civilization was built by men whether we like it or not and without men to combat other men, women would still be beneath the boot of men. Sadly the only confidence I have is in my dreams to get fit and heal and live.

I have no desire to fight over or control the destiny of our species. I'd be very happy if I was a successful member of the herd. Though my current condition has hindered that. I'm not counting myself down and out just yet.

That may intrinsically reduce my value as a person. However it frees me up from feeling guilt or shame for the actions of the many and allows me to explore more subjective esoteric and unknown aspects of life.

Technically, 'transgenderism' is called gender dysmorphia. You might be familiar with other types of dysmorphia, like the ones where people feel they shouldn't have arms or legs. Doctors will not perform surgery on these people, because it is a clearly defined mental illness. In stead, they refer them to psychiatrists, psychotherapists ect. They don't go under the knife and get pills from an endocrinologist. That being said, I'm not transphobic. I don't personally care what someone wants to call themselves, so long as they don't run their shit at me for not knowing their pronouns are spaghettiself/ spaghettiselves. I do however take issue with transexuals being so privileged. What makes their form of dysphoria special that it should be encouraged and not treated? Why should they be prescribed estrogen blockers when there are women with estrogen receptive breast cancer that legitimately need them?

I disagree that traditional gender roles are meaningless these days. We need them more than ever now. Humans evolved to work in a family unit, and it's overwhelmingly evident that we need that specific structure to function well. Kids from single parents are much more likely to grow up fucked up, and it has huge impacts on society. For instance, if you track the single mother rates and crime rates among a demographic, whichever it may be, you'll see that crime increases proportionally to the percentage of single mothers.

There are two genders, and each one is best suited for their traditional roles. That isnt to say that one cannot do things the other can, but they're less likely to be proficient in them. Men can't multitask nearly as well as women, women aren't nearly as strong as men. Women tend to be more empathetic and less logical, men tend to be emotionally autistic but more logical. It's just biology and we should respect the nature of things

You can't look at the way things are playing out so far and think #1 is going to go down. It's pretty clear Pence & Ryan are running the show from a policy standpoint.

Sadly, the spirit of Ayn Rand is actually very popular in the US, and it mainly manifests as this fiscal conservative sentiment that anything you do to enhance the position of labor or regulate the private sector directly translates into killing jobs and ruining the economy. Chelsea Handler nixes two-party politics: 'I'm not a Democrat anymore'

The election of Donald Trump has inspired Chelsea Handler to re-think her political affiliation.

The outspoken comedian sat down with Variety hours after leading the Women’s March at the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday in Park City, Utah, for a wide-ranging interview, discussing everything from Trump to women’s rights to two-party politics.

Handler revealed that after the results of the 2016 election, she no longer considers herself a Democrat.
