...and dear god people weren't kidding. Must be the most jankey arse animation that I've ever seen. Did they even finish these?

Thats a mighty nice looking avatar there

I never understood the hate on luclin models, they look so much better even if some animations are bad(theres bad classic animations too)

Back on live i only allowed High elves and drow to use the luclin models, mostly because i was a turbonerd and attributed it to the superior beauty of the elves.

I like the look of the gear which is why I tried them but dear god. As soon as I started walking forward I burst out in laughter. The way the dark elf walks looks like he's rushing to the bathroom before he poops himself and his swinging arms... i don't even know how to describe it so heres a video to best describe how unnatural the walking animation looks https://youtu.be/wBqM2ytqHY4

So the person who said
I'm going to necro this thread a bit but I figured this comment was worth mentioning. I don't feel that it's right to go out of the way to enable something that was intentionally disabled. :\
About using Luclin models, then makes a thread talking about doing just that.

I assume this was after the IP exemption fiasco? lol

The common consensus seems to be that they are allowed for use just not exploited. Now I feel like they shouldn't be even allowed on live XD
Ah the ip exemption fiasco. I wish I could delete it because now it just turned into troll bait. It'sstill funny to see them post though.

nothing about exploitation, they forced classic models so ppl would see velious textures

or if there was an exploit with luclin models, i never heard about it

P99 stick figures sucks ass, here is evidence from an earlier thread. Female Ogre on human model:

Yeah, I was genuinely resentful the first time I logged in after installing Luclin. It was like literally everything I had hoped they wouldn't do when designing new character models. Game aesthetics are definitely important - I almost think if they hadn't royally fucked this up so badly, EQ might've been able to withstand competition from WoW, at least for awhile longer than it did.

Very glad that P99 exists and has taken a firm stance against Luclin models. They are truly, horrendously bad and totally not in The Vision™ or spirit of a Verant-run EverQuest. Something I'd like to see happen eventually is a completely fan-made rework of the classic models, retaining similar proportions while constructing an entirely new skeleton with better animations, textures, more polygons, etc.

Luclin models look good enough.

Your opinion has zero value due to the fact that every morning you look in the mirror and think the same thing.
