I was in EA at the time, but I will provide some context.
The timestamp on that post is December 9, 2002. That means that Planes of Power had just launched (PoP launched on October 29, 2002.
What you are looking at is not the 'end-game' raiding scene.
- In Virtue was the top guild on the server since inception, but they broke up months before the post mentioned abovbe. Before their breakup, they had zero competition. This means they got all the mobs they wanted, but they left plenty of 'lesser' challenges for the guilds below them.
- Caer Cadarn was the consensus 2nd ranked guild, and also had no competition within their circle of pixelated mobs. CC rose to become top guild upon IV's breakup.
- Promethian Order tried to compete with CC but not very successfully. They where the consensus 3rd ranked guild, which rose to 2nd upon IV's breakup.
So basically, when you look at this post, you are looking at third tier guilds, including my EA, and their usual competition, AD, jostling over third ranked pixels. The raid scene for the very top was quite tranquil! All the squabbles happened at the rungs below the top.
