Yup. The only people I give items to are nubs out their grinding their faces off at orc 1 and 2. If you beg me for items the only thing you're going to get is some friendly advice. This shit is classic as fuck. If you're fooled by the female elf begging for gear you're the asshole.

I think my favorite is when I was handing things out in Gfay. I had someone ask for all the banded items I was handing out. I thought it was a bit greedy but ended up giving them half of the items anyway as not many were interested. So I hand the items over to a naked anon noobie human. That should have been my first clue... but whatever, people lose their starting gear/weapon sometimes.

Later that day I go with a guildie back to Gfay and he is giving some things away. The same person says they want his shield. He tells them they can't use it. At that point they are unanon and are infact a gnome enchanter. So... no need for that banded stuff earlier. I tracked them and inspected them. Clearly someone's alt. Their gear was majorly pimped out.

I wasn't sure whether to be irritated or figured they earned it by having to go through the trouble of going anon/race change and taking all their items off. Enjoy your banded Zylind!

Had something similar happen with a gnome in EC named Subpeona (sp?). He asked me if I had any plat or items for a new player and I almost gave him some but didn't have much on me at the time and I don't have much excess plat anyway since I only been on the server a few months. Like 10m later I see him auctioning all these high level items. I send him a tell that says, "that's a lot of nice items you got there for a "new" player" and his response was that he's just selling the stuff for a friend...riiiiiiiiiiiighhhht. What a scam artist.

Pretty much! Skycloud came to me at Orc 1 when I was just starting out and gave me a full set of Wu's and jewelry. I give away gear to people all of the time because of him because I know how great it feels!

Easy to spot a twink... they don't even buy items for slots til they get certain things they want.

lol confirmed, same dude begged me for plat and was selling high end equip, that was usable by his class, that he claimed his brother gave him to sell. Still gave him some plat, told him i knew he was a no good shit dick liar as well tho.
