Why is it that whenever I struggled with moving loot, or dealing with merchants who wouldnt sell, I never considered just making a mule, getting an ip exemption, then having it easy?

I've reported lots of times when I suspected dual boxing and I am not really sure if it ever gets enforced, or its just when people hop on for 20 seconds to transfer an item.

Today in Lfay, I watched for over an hour this situation of an iksar killing sisters, then trading spears to a completely idle gnome. eventually he would cast SOW on the gnome, then run him over to sell, while the shaman sat 100% idle.

I ran a char there who wasnt invis, and he logged the gnome out immediately, but it was back as soon as I returned on the invis char.

....not that this picture was taken ~8 months ago, since he's still rocking the <Asgard> tag, his alt cleric is not even in Plane of Hate gear, and his wizard doesn't have a Staff of the Silent Star that he acquired back in January.

Her and I got an IP exemption a long while ago (before Velious was released on this server) and are recently coming back. However, due to her not having the time to play, she doesn't really do much in game currently, and, under request, is using the gnome to run loot for me on HER account, and HER time, thus not dual boxing (or I would say it isn't), however I will not deny what's going on here. The second is that if a GM actually comes out and says that you can be banned for this, we will stop (I'd really appreciate a warning from the GMs before a flat out ban if you read this.)

Well, I'm usually pretty idle with 10 minutes between camp clears (so much so, people have ran through and cleared the camp not even realizing I was there camping it.) The gnome logging out while you were there on a non-invis character was complete and total coincidence.

Also the 4ish volunteers that work on this server do investigate twoboxing and such when they can. Have you not seen the plenty of "innocent" people that have posted about being banned for 2boxing?

All I'm seeing is someone that's mad that he can't get someone else to do this for him, and can't take an explanation that he has 0 proof against. However, seeing how he acts, I'm starting to understand why he wouldn't be able to find someone to do this for him. I'm a nice person that has done this in the past for other people, whether it be other games completely, or merely other servers, and they're willing to do it for me. Deal with it. I guess I'm late to the party on this, but the OP should take screenshots, host them someplace, make a petition post with them and petition in game RIGHT THEN with what you're seeing.

I'm the asshole that ratted out three different necros in Felwithe for using idle characters to sell their 2h swords, and all 3 got punted. The guides were really quite good about it. Felt awesome to do some real life PvP.

Yeah, its a free server, but I wanted a classic-ish experience. If I wanted to pay $15 or whatever a month, it isnt a big deal. I just want to be on the same rules as everyone else if I am going to continue to spend 20+ hours a week playing.

I have been on this server for a long time and never had anyone ruin my experience by boxing. You should probably just go find another camp, there's like 4 gms for 1500 primadonna's. They do what they can, and they do a pretty good job at it. You've done your duty to report it. I would just leave it at that and move on. There isn't much else to do. You getting more upset over it isn't going to make any difference.

I'd be fine with paying $10 a month for P99 if I still played it. If they justified the cost with more staff for CSR and perhaps did something to fix the abortion of a raiding system. Totally worth $10 a month even if you only play an hour or two a night that's still ~50 hours a month of entertainment for 10 bucks and if we're being honest many of us play MUCH more than that.

Personally I know there isnt a way to really enforce this. People joke about using their cellphones or a VPN instead of an IP Exemption, since that almost flags you for observation.

Gets under my skin too. Just petition them and eventually a GM or guide will take care of them. Once you send in a petition you'll generally get a thank you tell from the GM/guide too, at least I do when I rat people out.

Booted up the baby/nontwinked mage the other day in CB, all's well with a Druid deciding to PL the party.. except he was clearly boxing and even says he is in group. Personally I know there isnt a way to really enforce this. People joke about using their cellphones or a VPN instead of an IP Exemption, since that almost flags you for observation.

So why even have it as a rule? To stop the server from being perma camped 24/7 like it is already?

Folks, you are playing on a free private nostalgia server run by fans, who are attempting to recreate a specific era of a game from the 20th century, with their own rules.

No one is forcing you to play here. If you don't like the rules, don't play. You are not entitled to anything. You are always subject to the developers simply saying "screw it" and shutting the server off for good and all your years/months of playing are gone in an instant, and all you'll have left are screenshots and chat logs.

So if you are playing EQ on P99 as some sort of serious life game to get upset over, you need to change your perspective.

Besides, if you play more than 20 hours a week on P99 and can't run a 5K in the real world in under an hour, you should probably spend more time outside.

Honestly working at a waste treatment plant is a big deal and a respectable job considering the investment of state funds and the welfare of such a large population. Generally you need at least a associates to get hired there.

Clearing blockages is a BIG deal with how much the pipe costs, what kind of blockage, where is it going from here? what is it made of? There is a lot going on there.

Even just inspecting pipes is something you would have a background in engineering for.

Her and I got an IP exemption a long while ago (before Velious was released on this server) and are recently coming back. However, due to her not having the time to play, she doesn't really do much in game currently, and, under request, is using the gnome to run loot for me on HER account, and HER time, thus not dual boxing (or I would say it isn't), however I will not deny what's going on here. The second is that if a GM actually comes out and says that you can be banned for this, we will stop (I'd really appreciate a warning from the GMs before a flat out ban if you read this.)

Well, I'm usually pretty idle with 10 minutes between camp clears (so much so, people have ran through and cleared the camp not even realizing I was there camping it.) The gnome logging out while you were there on a non-invis character was complete and total coincidence.
