I'm playing a Ranger, got it to 56 and have epics in about a full week of time /played. It's not too hard to level, I get groups, and Enchanters are in super high demand because of the gigantic DPS boost they bring to groups.

Looooooooots of hand me down gear gets passed around. I personally have given away easily over 100 items that I acquired while lvling to random guildies and I know others have done as much or more. Nothing super crazy good but just watch guildchat and people are giving away scraps all the time

Solo xp is definitely not great. I'm not 100% sure this is how it works but I've been told you basically get the same amount of xp whether you solo a mob or kill it with 6 ppl so grouping is heavily encouraged. I honestly think this is a GREAT thing though. Grouping is what EQ is all about it's an MMO. Having the ability to solo when you have to is cool but grouping should always be preferred and that's the way it is on Phinny. I main a Necro and I honestly don't think I solo'd an entire level the whole time I was lvling 1-60. I'll tell you in my personal opinion it's WAY more refreshing seeing all these great xp camps filled with 6 man groups rather than a shm/mnk or enc/clr duo or some twink soloing a camp to themselves. The amount of solo/duo that happens on P99 is unlike anything I ever saw in my years of playing live EQ. I don't miss it.

BDA left willingly because P99 is pretty much a deadend server. Permanent Velious with all the relevant content being ruined by neckbeards on a daily basis. There's no end in sight and there's no hope for improvement in the future that I can see. Staff seems uninterested in making any real changes to how things are. If you aren't already in A/A and you actually want to raid content that matters.... What keeps you playing on P99? Why do you even bother logging in? Only thing that kept me going on P99 was the hope that Velious would fix everything. Everybody had this idea that there was sooooo much raid content in Velious that the neckbeards couldn't possibly lock it all down and everyone would get lots of pixels. Unfortunately the neckbeards out neckbearded our expectations and managed to pretty much continue their shitting all over everyone else methods from Kunark era.

I played P99 Velious for almost a year and I finally gave up hope shortly after the "Raid Summit" that accomplished absolutely fucking nothing. That was the final nail in the coffin for me when I finally realized that nothing will ever change and if I didn't want to join A/A but I wanted to raid the best content I was nearly 100% shit out of luck. For all of you raiders out there that aren't in the top 2 guilds. I'm genuinely curious. Why are you still playing here? Do you have hope things will change in the future? Or are you just content with the shitty scraps A/A didn't go for that week?

Lol. Are you really using a earthquake while Awakened was raid suspended as proof that anyone can get dragons? Is that really where you're going with this? Don't be a fucking idiot please. Everyone knows that earthquakes are awesome and every raid guild gets a good shot at pixels when they happen. That's why nearly every guild on the entire server has been begging for more earthquakes to make the raid scene less shitty for sooooo long. How often have they been happening lately? Did Earthquakes just start going off left and right in the past month that I've been away? Weren't we promised 2-3 a month once upon a time? For the first year of Velious we were lucky to get 1 every 2-3 months. If one night of pixels every couple months is enough to keep you satisfied then more power to you I guess. If I'm some kind of failure in your eyes cause I decided I'm not content with that then so be it man. Enjoy your once every 3 months pixels. I'll be over on Phinny raiding fun shit as often as I want to and having 10x more fun than I had on P99.

Didn't read wall of text, but you guys left because your 120-man zergs of mid-level raid mobs didn't work. Instead of trying to cultivate and train your guild members to be able to compete with the other guilds, you thought it'd be easier to literally start from scratch on a new server.

Oh they did A LOT of training alright....a lot of training of guild members. Like Sodor's Finest level of training.

Shocking I know. I get tells almost daily from former P99 players welcoming me to the server and sharing the same feelings of disappointment with what P99 has been allowed to become. I'm not even exaggerating when I say prolly 30+ different people from P99 outside of BDA have contacted me on Phinny since I started playing there.

How big of a transition was Phinigel for BDA? I imagine you can't really train and ruin anyone elses raid with instancing.

FQ =/= P99. Totally separate things my friend. In 1.5 months I've logged on P99 a grand total of about 5 minutes. Once to take a screenshot for a RNF post and the other time to give an item to a friend cause I'm not playing anymore. If pastures weren't greener on Phinny wouldn't I be logging on to the game more often? /shrug

I plan to stay until at least OoW prolly through DoDH. But if the server TOTALLY dies before then I'll prolly just pop to the next TLP or hopefully something else not shitty comes out and I can quit EQ finally. I don't foresee coming back and enjoying P99 again. Can only take so much god damn Velious u know?

Plus I've gotten used to having basic QoL features again. I have spell sets and maps and target rings with con colors. I have a pet that persists through zones and invis. I can SoW and Jboot indoors. List goes on and on and on. Giving all that shit up for some bullshit "classic" experience that I couldn't care less about when there's a non-stale non-topheavy no poopsocking TLP's to play instead just seems pointless.

After playing on Phinny for quite some time now i can definitely say its worth trying out and seeing if it's for you. I am not in BDA but in another guild that most of the core came over from P99. This is a nice spin with the instancing and if you want to compete for open world content you can.

I once saw one of my engineers in the break house play Phinny on his laptop while having lunch between driving Gordon's express runs.

The graphics were all wrong.

How can you play with those ugly ass models? I know you can turn them off but what will you do when Luclin comes and you need them to ride mounts?

Luclin models aren't even good enough for an imaginary children's television program persona to play with. What does this say about the lot of you?

Crazy right? It amazes me too sometimes that P99 raiding would be SOOOO BAD that people would actually prefer a live TLP server. But I do and so do many many others. Crazy world we live in eh?

Are they going to hack the internet and warp into our instance to steal our pixels? How exactly do you think that they would "shit stomp" us on Phinny? Does spending more time staring at walls than other guilds = shit stomping them in your mind? I mean I'm sure if they wanted to A/A could move to Phinny and stare at walls WAY better than we can. Luclin Models looked fine running around in PoP+ content. Its only classic content where they look out of place.

I don't get the obsession with low polygon counts. I kind of like Luclin models. However if they're not your thing you can avoid using them and still use mounts if you have an AoN or are a Necro. Skele form can mount with old models on.

I have no idea why people persist with this. What exactly is the competition when raids aren't instanced? It's just a massive time investment that most people (including myself) have zero desire to put into a game.
