View Full Version : Using a Level of a Zone for Power Leveling?

Last night I went to Befallen to hunt at level 19, teamed with a 17. When we got to the second level of befallen we were greeted by a level 60, Power Leveling someone else. She announced over the zone that the 2nd level is taken up for power leveling. Not quite understanding what is going on, my teammate and i said ok, lets just leave and find somewhere else to go. But... Befallen being Befallen... we kept getting attacked looking for a way out. We had things well under control until the level 60 trained half the floor into me. Leaving my corpse behind a locked door at the bottom of the pit. Very Upset of course I personal messaged her and asked why she trained everyone into me. She said among other things that "I warned you, you got in the way"
I died 30 seconds after she shouted that she claimed the floor for power leveling.
My question is, is this allowed? CAN people claim a level of a zone to power level someone and if you not fast enough they kill you to scare you away?
Thanks for your help and Happy Memorial Day!
PS. As A VET, Everyday is Memorial day. Never Forget the guys that gave the ultimate price!

If it were not for the fact the odds that one person would be in befallen are almost as bad as there is two

You can claim a camp regardless but your pretty much stuck to it. You can probably charge the power-leveler with "zone disruption" as well.
Best advice is to have a blue99 lawyer on retainer for this xp weekend.

Power leveling is considered zone disruption if they are stopping at level characters from exping

If there's more than one camp on that second level u can settle into one, that's ur right... Some levels are a camp in a sense cuz they arnt big. Just depends on zone.

you can only claim a camp; which means where a specific npc or a cluster of npcs spawn. you cannot claim a whole zone as per the rules, a floor in befallen wouldn't be a camp, but where a named npc spawns is. They may say that they plan to pull a certain area of a zone; but anything that is not inside your "camp" is a first to encounter rule.
future reference, if you see something like this happening and you are trying to get out safely, respond to the lvl 60 saying incoming before it is too late.
my example is when im in lower guk, you cannot claim hand, arch mage and lord all at the same time. you can only be in 1 of the 3 spots at a single time. 3 people in one gorup may be at each location clearing to keep the 3 in one group, if someone leaves one of those 3 locations to attend another location then they forfeit the camp.

If you find me, Grelwin, in game, I will get your corpse if you need help and buff the hell out of you for a while.
I play daytime Eastern (US).

You can't camp whole floors or zones. You can camp individual spawns and those around them, but anything that you do not have LoS with is fair game for others. As far as training you, that is a violation of the rules if intentional.

I always get lowish health in that situation and ask the PLer for a regen/thorns then proceed to tear up part of his PL area :^)
But nah i usually just leave or ask for a certain area to camp, they usually dont have a problem giving you enough mobs for you to xp but it just depends on who it is

To be fair -- befallen is usually empty. For awhile there they had a ghoul roaming around aggroing through walls.

EXP weekend is no excuse for felonious behavior. name and shame or /petition them in game next time especially if they are disrupting a zone and you know it.

Sorry to hear about your negative experience, OP.
type /hot corpse /corpse
creates a hotkey that tries to summon a corpse (will be the corpse you have targeted, or if no corpse targeted then your oldest corpse in zone IIRC).
Try running around the top floor spamming that hotkey and seeing if it will pull your corpse up for you.
Alternatively, perhaps if you create a petition in the petition forum describing your problem, maybe a guide/gm will move your corpse to the common lands for you.
