Getting kinda burnt, whats the dealy with this new "recycled" server

I find little bits of comments here there about some new recycled server but I have no idea what it is. It sounds like a new server where you start from scratch and slowly add the patches as time goes on? Is that correct? Is it coming? is there time frame? is the idea scratched?

I find the server is getting incredibly stagnant as I entered my upper 30s. for the most part people group with a small circle of (usually) twiinked out friends. The rest either don't talk at all or ar bing power leveled. I had one dude who said he'd hrpoup with me but only if I had a circlet. LOL. WTF is that? I it weren't for the annoying ass bards training me on occasion or hogging one my lowbie alts kills, I'd think I was playing a single player game.

Once the game expanded out, that was pretty common. I'd embrace a classic no-expansion server. But, still in the original zones here, you find most of the activity. Yeah like mistmoore for sure, place is about over-camped 24/7.

Mid-levels were always like that in this game. because lots of people play alts from 10-30. The rest are at or near level cap. If you are not into soloing through mid-levels, then you just need contacts for regular groups, or go to very populated zones.

One way you can find populated zones is use in-game commands.
Example: /who all Crush
That will tell you how many players are in Crushbone without even needing to enter the zone. Different zones have different names, might be a list around someplace on wiki, or like me just try til you get it right hehe.

As for a new server like Blue, no one knows yet the details for sure. Just that it would likely be after Discord is launched, after Blue server finishes it's patch progression and then it will be a progression server very-most likely. Don't even know if it will be a reset/recycled server other than starting from launch state-ish (still no original client :P ). I don't think they have even come to a for certain on the progression speed.

I don't wanna piss in anyone's cornflakes, but wasn't the discord server on live a flop? That's what I heard. I think i quit a bit before it launched so can't say for myself. It's one thing to reinvent the wheel and another to reinvent the turd.

It's one thing to reinvent the wheel and another to reinvent the turd.idk, I was doing co-op PvP in UO at the time, only played on Tunare and Firiona Vie for the pve.

But, it's the most requested here. Maybe because of less players overall on the emu's. So, ffa is not drawing from multi-1000's of players, so tends to be more just solo exp on avg, and more desperate kills just to kill solo boredom, making for even less players. Discord is more co-op, and will likely fair better with less players, which may mean more players stick around.

It's like how faction wars never die in games (e.g. EVE, SWG, AO etc), unless abused by developers (e.g SWG).

I want teams! And to OP, there are plenty of people who play like robots and watch netflix/pornhub while their xp bar slowly fills up. Then there are others who engage! Be one of the latter.

My understanding is that the devs are working on finishing up velious for awhile. Then they will enjoy their work when everything is done with a re99 of some kind.

I honestly think Daybreak would have a problem with a new server and thats part of the reason no discord - a recycled blue server might be just enough for them to say "ok shows over"

True enough that the Zerg has migrated, but the almighty dollar still rules this world and 2000 new subscriptions would help feed the Krono machine. I am honestly surprised Daybreak hasn't assimilated P99 already seeing how we probably have a higher active roster than 75% of the live servers

It's fun dying to a garbage game mechanic( character stuck crouching in a perfectly flat wall- genius stuff verant, you god damn chimpanzees). This game plays so horrible/clunky ater years of not playing it. Hard to believe how much time i sunk into this trash back in the day.
