Bards who swarm the entire zone and steal mobs from other players.
They're real pieces of shit in game and in real life. The mental willingness to ruin other peoples innocent fun is messed up.

Why is this funny to you? Does cruelty bring you pleasure? That is the only way I could begin to imagine how you'd think it's funny to ruin other peoples seldom and innocent fun.
People play video games for a lot of reason. Most people just want to be entertained and relax. Another person influencing that persons enjoyment and stress in a negative way is not cool.

Some people just want to be at the top and they don't care how they get there or who they step on, on the way up.

bards are usually those that never learned how to share.

I like seeing a level 2 bard kiting every mob in a noob zone while all of the other noobs watch, hoping to snag a bat the second it spawns just to get some exp. It's a 100% faithful representation of what EverQuest was like in 2001.

It's depressing that a portion of the bard community ruins the reputation for a majority of bards on this service. I didn't kite much past low 40s (and even then preferred to group despite being so much slower). I tried to only do it during low pop hours and avoided areas people were hunting. I never kited dreadlands, where your own failure means you kill others. There are a lot of good bards who did likewise when kiting or never did it at all.
Then I played all my other toons in various zones, and whether it was someone selling powerlevels or trying to level themselves ... there were dozens of times my play was interrupted by running from their scattered trains or simply not being able to find mobs to experience on.
It sucked. On each of my toons it sucked and I usually tried to work things out via tells. A common theme was a not-so-witty retort that I'm just jealous of how fast they're xping or referencing the "QQ" and go somewhere else. The worst offenders were those who tried to do it in dreadlands. If they failed (either by zoning or dying), others died. Always ... others died.
What I'd like to communicate to those bards?
There's no jealousy. I did it. I'm not bothered you're doing it in principle. I'm bothered with how you're doing it.

I never had a problem with bards until I started leveling my alt in DL. Now I know why people consider them the scum of EQ.

Bards have a really limited choice of zones and most of them are shitty outdoor kunark zones.. you know theyre gonna kite there so why not just go to a zone that doesnt suck and avoid the drama in the first place?
Literally have never died to a bard train and i dont lvl in OT/DL. Coincidence? Nah

Bards just prepare you to deal with the endgame raiding where the exact same thing happens. It even looks similar. A huge train of mobs that you can't touch.

This has been happening in FoB the last couple of days. Some bard (I won't name names..is there a naming and shaming policy?) was rounding up *all* the mobs from the FoB pit..and would steal mobs you were clearly in the process of pulling and then would start swarm kiting outside the pit area and die..then his train would kill everyone in it's path. So double whammy of douche-baggery there..horde all the mobs for yourself and then kill everyone on top of it.
I don't even have that much of a problem with swarm kiting per se but do they have to grab *every* last mob? Leave some for others FFS unless you are alone in the zone. Also, if you are going to do it..you best know what you are doing so you don't fail and then kill everyone around you.
I've played with more good bards than bad, but I will say it only takes a few bad bards swarm kiting newbie zones to kind of destroy a person's view of them.
