Sirken asserts that you don't have to poopsock so many hours.
The guest states that because other guilds do it, they have no choice.
Sirken rightly points out that they DO have a choice.
Guest states there is no choice.

Guest...You indeed have a choice. You are choosing to make the effort for pixels over not making that effort.
You are deluding yourself by shifting responsibility for your choice to a non-existent obligation placed upon you by choices made by others.

It is sad that you can't see that. I wish you will at the very least identify the truth.
You can still play how you want and make the choices you prefer, but with a clear picture of reality.

I'm tired of hearing defense for the staff because the project is free. Nostralius was free and had top notch CS support with a user base of nearly 25,000. Project 99 is around 1500 and actively loses members because of lack of attention by staff. Either volunteer to do the job correctly or don't do it at all - I doubt there's a shortage of Guide apps.

Just because there are plenty of Guide apps doesnt mean those people are qualified. I would imagine 75% of the people that apply wouldnt even pass the checks to become a guide. Then to actually do the Guide work and deal with the bullshit on this server is more then any volunteer should ever have to deal with. I'll admit i applied to become a guide and then realized i wanted no part in running a Adult daycare on the internet.

Saying "you have a choice" not to play is a fucking stupid argument. The staff has the choice to end this. An individual player does not have the choice of determining how other people play. A guild doesn't either. 3 guilds do not. Unless you get the entire raid population to agree not to do this (impossible) your only choice is to quit or do the same.

After i applied a few weeks later i was asked if i was still interested and i said no due to my reasoning after thinking about it the weeks after i applied. I really did want to help this community but realized that there is no helping some of the people on this server and those were the people i would have had to deal with on a regular basis. I had asked to just help with forum and smaller stuff ingame and really didnt want to handle any of the raiding aspect of the game just due to having a bunch of friends that still raided and i didnt want to be put in a spot where my personal feelings could have a effect on the outcome of the decision. At the time it was kinda all or nothing though or thats what i was told. This was all during time when Eunomia and Deru were around as i had a friendly ingame relationship with both.

I believe the problem is practically every guide they have ever had has cheated the system in some way, whether it's logging in banned accounts to RMT, giving out variance timers, etc. So it's not so easy to just recruit 10 more unpaid guides.

What I wish the staff would do is make the classic FEEL an explicit goal, and make a few small mechanics compromises here and there for that. The whole bind sight tracking/FTE racing/4 AM batphone thing does not feel classic at all, because classic servers didn't have 1000 players at max level.

P99 has great support as long as it's not about raiding or red. All the raid scene issues are 100% player caused/driven, if you all grew up there wouldn't be a problem.

Isn't there a thread about a song to describe the raid scene? My pick would be Radiohead - Just, if only for the line "You do it to yourself, you do, And that's what really hurts"
