Is trading account for an other account legal?

Hi everybody.
Iam asking myself.
I made a monk and after 41 levels, i realised that i would like to have a healer.
I havent time to restart a new char.
So i would like to know if tradding account is legal or not?

No, it was outlawed in 2011.

Sold my blue "Swish" account in that time, and had plat for dayyyzzz.

Selling for $$ was never allowed.

Don't let the bad apples in here get to you. It's the blue server raid scene, it takes its toll on people.

Best thing to do is to transfer anything of value to a new account (or just make another character on the existing one).

Yeah, don't listen to those jerks. I've no idea how to answer your question as I have no experience in that department, but why not just make a new character on your account just in case you want to play the monk again later? :D In any case, good luck!

i advise you NOT to do it even if you find someone willing to trade. they might scam you and take both accounts.

Sell your stuff of value for in game plat, use the funds to get your new guy started out with modestly decent gear - doesn't have to be spectacular to make a huge difference in getting a new guy up to the level your monk is already at. No need to do anything risky like trading accounts. What happens if someone resets the password on the account they traded to you after they've already stripped your account? That's no fun. Not worth the risk.

Just make a new account and start a new character.

You'll always have that monk to fall back on if you decide to change it up again.

Well if one account gets hacked/banned/whatever you won't lose all your characters.

If you had time in the past to get a monk to 41, I'm sure you will have time in the future to get a few levels on a new character too. The earlier you start the more time you'll have!

Even if you start from scratch as a cleric... you don't need heaps of wisdom gear etc early on. Just focus on getting 46, find a guild on the way... and disco :)

Someday you'll want an alt, so why not just roll a cleric and save the monk for the day you realize you want an alt?

Probably better in the long run for you, and less twisting of knickers for the folks who lose sleep at night obsessing over rules violations :)

Nobody will know if you trade account information unless you tell everyone. Make friends share accounts and play back n forth if that's what you want to do. Just don't be stupid and get one banned.
