Aftermath is a bait and switch guild, steals DKP from members

Hello all,

I made the mistake of joining Aftermath with my wife. We accrued 500 DKP together over several months of raiding. We both made full membership. Not a single time, not even once was I able to bid on an item to use my DKP due to changes in the rules made after I joined.

Currently Aftermath is allowing people who haven't been around and are from old TMO days to become officers and interfere with guild politics. The private members forum is full of drama regarding loot council decisions, members being harassed, and so on. Anyone who is a Aftermath member knows this is true.

Do not join this guild. Its literally a scam of the highest order. I had stopped playing about a month ago when they really started changing policies. I came back and posted to the private full member forum asking various questions including, "Is Aftermath a bait and switch guild?" outlining my concerns. My point was to spur conversation and get serious questions answered that not only I but several other members in the guild were expressing since I had taken a break.

I was banned from the forum and removed from the guild. Nothing was said. I had to login and get members to mention it in guild chat before an officer would respond to me.

There's nothing wrong with LC as DKP has it's own flaws, but with loot council it's important that you trust the judgement and objectivity of those deciding. If you lose that trust, it's bad.

BDA has been rolling with the same leadership essentially since 2010. The official tag has only changed hands 3 separate occasions, but I've been holding the actual tag since sometime in 2013 maybe and before that I was a co-leader in 2012 when the tag passed to Sadad. The previous leader before Sadad and myself is still active and helps in an officer role. That's a lot of leadership experience which makes for a pretty solid council when you add in other officers with 2-3 years of experience as well. The bottom line is loot council can work, but you need the right people at the top.

you know the kind of thing that can be openly explained and applies to everyone in guild equally

for example DKP inflation is a solid tool to prevent hoarding or late-expansion slacking
